About Blackfoot Truckstop Diner

In memory of Edna Taylor…

Edna Taylor opened the truckstop/diner in 1956 and became well known by truck drivers from across North America including most of the local folks in the Calgary area too. Edna Was a REAL community worker, doing a myriad of good deeds in Inglewood, Calgary. Edna passed away in the Foothills Hospital after suffering from severe heart complications on July 25th, 2011, aged 78. She truly was a diner icon, her legacy will live on and will be remembered as someone who used her business to help others

What we do

Whatever you choose, from the daily special, omelettes or pancakes to the basic steak-and-eggs, it will be filling, fantastic and cheap. Perhaps the best bit about Blackfoot is the staff: Ladies in their pink outfits, who are all utterly sweet, somehow keeping a genuine smile as they rush about keeping coffee cups full, making meal recommendations and doling out colouring books to kids. Blackfoot Diner isn’t just about great breakfast — served 24 hours a day — it is also a great place for a good old-fashioned three-course dinner (specials come with dessert). There’s a tacky toy train on a track high on the wall, which children love, and plenty of homemade desserts (including delicious chocolate and banana crΓ¨me pies) that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Cozy and nostalgic! All frontline staff were amazing and very cheerful. I love that they’re open 24hours serving hot and delicious foods. When all the downtown diners were full and had long queue waiting times, I decided to try the Blackfoot diner. The place obviously look like a diner meant for truck drivers that are either visiting the city or just passing through. It looks old and furnitures were a bit outdated. But it adds a feeling of nostalgia and the presence of old jukebox, moving toy train by the ceiling and vintage music made my whole experience even better. I ordered the Working Man’s breakfast which consists of toasts, two eggs, 3 sausages and one large pancake. All of these just for $9.95!! I know their diner is not β€˜Instagram-able’ but they have great food and great place to hangout with friends, family or just chill all by yourself. Definitely going back here with my family next time. Update: I went back with my wife and our baby girl. This will be our go-to weekend diner now.

Diner is so awesome to visit. I always get the home made soup with whatever I get. Great food, milkshakes are a bit expensive but worth it for a treat every once in a while. They are awesome. Very friendly waitresses and great value. And of course the model trains making away around the tracks on the ceiling are fun for the kids and adults. Highly recommend.

Not sure why the high rating for this place. It's Standard diner fare. I think mostly people who have been coming here for 20+ years and are just used to the food come here because nothing really stood out. Burgers did not taste fresh. Fries were warm and gravy was cold and had fries in it. Wish they would let you know that they add relish to the burgers, as hubby don't like. I don't think the burgers are even homemade as one would expect from a diner. Jukebox at our table ate up our $1 and the server didn't even offer to reimburse us. The diner itself is quite old and dated but that adds to the charm of the place. Servers are friendly. I liked the pictures on the wall of Hollywood actors ?

Been looking for a traditional club sandwich for a long time now and Blackfoot Diner hit the spot. In a time when being hypermodern is hip, this spot is like a time capsule that takes you back to your childhood. Awesome service and great food. Will be back here whenever I can for sure.

A real "60s diner! The pancakes were very tasty. Had to wait a while before I got noticed and receive a menu. Staff was very friendly, though. I will come back for the atmosphere, and to try other items on the menu.

This is my favorite go to restaurant for all day breakfast. This time I came for eggs, pancake and coffee but ended up getting the Sunday special honey-garlic rib and soup combo instead. Not just the waitresses but all the staff are always very friendly. The food is not just reasonably priced its also very tasty.

Amazing food and amazing service! Hands down. I was welcomed as soon as I stepped foot in the diner and was seated. The atmosphere is phenomenal and it was a comfy place to eat at. Are waiter Pam was an absolute sweetheart hands down one of the nicest and welcoming people I’ve met. The food was great! After coming back from three weeks at camp this is what I needed, a real meal. I will definitely be taking the whole family here in the near future! ????
