I checked out the cave a few years ago. I followed it as deep as it I could and ended up coming out the other side. When I came out the world was the same but somehow different; we were battling a global pandemic, WWIII had started and the world was covered in fire and floods. I’ve been trying to figure out how to get back to the real world ever since. 1/10 would not recommend. The Mango Chutney sandwich at the rendezvous and Roundhouse however, mint!

We took our 6 and 9 yo kids on an 'expedition' to the ice cave (they can ski ok, ie. have blue run skills) and they really loved it, girl crawled and slid around on giant blocks of ice in the cave.

Went with my 2 sons and had a blast. I was the highlight of the trip. The worst part is the hike from the T-bar to the peak...and you will defiantly find out just how good shape you are in. The conditions in the back bowl were great, probably the best on the mountain. I suggest that you pack a lunch and enjoy it at the cave. Also, don't try to walk down into the cave...because its ice and i saw a lot of people fall trying to get down into the cave. Sit down and slide, and take your polls, it makes it easier to get out.

Better instructions: take the showcase tbar, and do the quick boot pack up to Blackcomb glacier entrance. Ski across the bowl, sticking to skiers right. You will pass the backcountry gate access, keep going downhill but stay right, sticking close to the ski boundary signs. Close to where the bowl levels out you will find the cave, entrance faces downhill.

Not to be missed! One of the last untouched natural wonders of BC, a real hidden gem. We were able to make it for one of their late season kayak tours and Blackcomb Patrol were amazing in directing us where to go. The late evening ice cave disco was a real cherry on the cake. Fun for all the family.

Top experience. Friends on social media all asked me where these pictures were from. Didn't know about this detour before visiting Whistler Blackcomb but we're glad we came across it

Nice little ice cave hidden away just off the main ski route. Worth a little visit to rest your feet and see something quite spectacular.

Route to the Ice Cave 1. Glacier Express Liftchair 2. Showcase T-Bar 3. Take Off skis > walk (climb-up) 30m approx 4. Ski down 500m to 1000m length > (expect heavy thick ungrommed run) Then you will reach the cave. People claimed Ice inside the cave unmelted and already lasted for thousands year (I am in doubt) But beautiful inside anyway. Also the snow are blended with light blue color, not sure why snow appeared with color (perhaps some mineral from rock)? Don't go by your own, go with buddy! Technically it is outside ski patrol area and about 50m to 100m outside the patrol boundary so it is at skiers' own risks)
