We received an outstanding customer service along with delicious food. Fire pits, kayaks, hot tub gave an experience hard to forget. The place is neat, organized and created with every single detail in mind. Highly recommended!

Absolutely a delight to explore & admire all the creative decor Trevor so artfully displayed. Trevor is an amazing and very talented host with incredible attention to detail. We had a beautifully presented and very delicious dinner and breakfast prepared by Trevor. We loved the outdoor hut, the hot tub, enjoyed kayaking, and enjoyed playing poker, darts and board games in the saloon. Every room had speakers which was so nice and we were able to play our own music. I highly recommend. We drove four hours and I would totally come back and recommend to my friends and family. I was blown away by the decor and all the woodwork done by the owner. Thank you Trevor for such a beautiful experience!
G	Gary T on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Black river retreat is an underrated, off the grid getaway. I'd like to start by saying to ignore the Google rating of 2 stars. Google has a checklist of things that need to be available to classify a location as 4 or 5 stars (i.e. valet parking etc), so smaller places like Black River unfortunately aren't accurately rated. You get the whole cottage to yourself which is really nice. It has a very rustic and woodsy ambiance which is quote romantic. There is a small loft with a whiskey bar, cigars, a poker table, darts, and a ton of board games that you can use. There is also a hot tub outside along with a few places to do a bonfire. Trevor is a phenomenal cook, and Id say the food is on par with any upper end Toronto restaurant. He is very kind and accommodating and gives you complete privacy, but is still available if you need anything additional.

Trevor’s creative spirit breathes through this place - from the outstanding meals to the interior decor of combining wood, magical lighting, one-of-a-kind furnishings to the beautiful outdoor oasis with cedar hot tub and fire pits. We are in bed on our last night here and have already booked our next trip. Best retreat ever!

It's relaxing and warm and welcoming. Trevor is so lovely and gracious and talented. We're already planning our next trip back.

S'more packets for the fire, robes for the hottub, games, little treasures everywhere. Huge indoor and outdoor areas completely yours during your stay. Very private and romantic. The food was incredible and presented beautifully! It is obvious that Trevor has poured his heart and soul into this place. He is an incredibly talented human being who is super friendly and goes out of his way to ensure a comfortable stay. Can't recommend it enough!!!!

The ambiance of this place is incredible. There is not one detail Trevor missed, he has thought of literally everything! You can relax in the cedar hot tub, or hang out in the wild west saloon. You can enjoy the sounds of the river while you sit by one of the many fire pits or curl up with a good book in front of one of the fireplaces inside. Whatever you prefer, the relaxation options are endless! The property is absolutely breathtaking and the silence is beautiful. What an incredible escape from the city! Trevor you have outdone yourself! We will be back! Thank you again!
