★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hired Shawn to move a fridge from downtown VIctoria (tenant) to Cordova Bay (my home. I would have done it myself but I was out of town. We agreed on $80. Quite steep price but was happy to pay to get the job done. On his arrival he realized that the fridge was still hooked up to the water line. A 5 min job that in the end was completed with the help of a female tenant. He then complained that he could not get the fridge out the door neither through the lobby door. I instructed him to take the fridge through the garage area. He said that he tried and could not do it. He however cashed the $80 sent by interac and left the fridge on the floor outside tenant’s apartment door. I went to do the job myself the following day and the picture says it all: no tools required to pass the fridge through the P1 lobby doors. The tenant told me that she showed Shawn this door but he just gave up and did not try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just had a great experience, with this local small company. Shawn of Black Hole Hauling (once something disappears into a black hole, it's gone!) has been wonderful. Friendly, professional, prompt, and reasonable rates. My mother's chest freezer had failed. I was fortunate enough to find a used upright one (as new ones scarce due to Covid -- people stocking up on food, and manufacture hampered my getting parts from China). I contacted Shawn yesterday. This almost new freezer was picked up from its location, delivered to my mother's, and her old freezer removed for disposal early this afternoon! I will be using him for all smaller moves, deliveries and junk removal from now on. Thank you, Shawn!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have hired Shawn 3 times now, he's fantastic. So capable and quick to respond. The first 2 times I called him the job involved moving a washer and dryer up and then down a really narrow staircase. He did it with absolutely no problem. Really reasonable rates, so friendly. Would highly recommend and will for sure be calling again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shawn and his helper buddy just delivered some furniture we ordered. He arrived early, did the full move quickly and quietly (helpful to my wife who was on Zoom work calls). He had forgotten that we had agreed he would unpack it and take packaging away. When I reminded him, he quickly apologized, he recalled the conversation, and said "of course!" Another 15 minutes and we were done. Quick, neat, efficient. And very polite. I will definitely keep his Contact info handy, for me and for referring to others.
