About Birmingham's Vodka and Ale House Saskatoon
Our History
You could say that Birmingham's Vodka & Ale House was born in the dusty years of the Great Depression. Prohibition was in full swing, and it was clear from my grandfather's endless stories that running booze was a lucrative business back then. Everyone was doing it! There were bucks to be made in liquor, and my Grandpa thought he'd capitalize on that most popular of prairie spirits - vodka. His tales of moving product for local stills as a young boy are legendary.
Grandpa always did have a storyteller's heart. As a young man his stories riveted me. My favourites featured his most trusted friend - his English boxer dog - Birmingham. They were thick as thieves, those two! Grandpa loved and cared for that dog like his own child and built Birmingham a dog house fit for a king. King of the distillers, that is.
You see, over the years, Grandpa came to run his own still. And that dog house? It had a false bottom in it. Local runners (and more than a few neighbours) would stop by for a visit with Birmingham, open the secret compartment, and collect their vodka order while Birmingham kept watch. Soon, the label "Birmingham's Vodka House" was a common turn-of-phrase among friends and neighbours.
This story really stuck with me over the years. I'm very fond of those wistful Birmingham tales, and just like our vodka, I want to share it far and wide. Will we ever know the truth of Grandpa's stories? Over the years, they've become legend.
One thing that I do know for sure is this: Birmingham's Vodka & Ale House is the real deal; and vodka is always on the menu.

β β β β β I ordered the Irish box. It comes with two option of chicken, a side of fries and a double pepperoni 13 inch pizza. It was pretty good. It was ok for four people! Good supper opciΓ³n for a Monday. I paid around $44 bucks including taxes!

β β β β β Decided to have a late supper and our go-to place is Birmingham's. It was so oily and over-seasoned, we couldn't enjoy it. Left most of the meal and will find another go-to supper place. This is the third bad experience in a row. Rated a two as the appys was the only good part of the meal.

β β β β β Myself and a few friends came in the other night for a meal and drinks and caught a hockey game. Left full and satisfied with the service!
Food was very good. I had the apple fritter burger (a bit odd but quite good), my friends had burgers as well (20% Burgers on Saturday). Fries and appetizers were also great.
Our server Courtney was awesome, she kept our drinks full and was very polite and talkative. Great place to catch your favorite sporting event and have some good food as well!

β β β β β Top notch place to eat! The food and service were amazing! Been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. Great deals on the burgers on Saturday. I got the Jacubowski burger and wife got the skirt burger with a side of garlic parm V-Chips and dill and Chipotle dip. Burgers cooked perfectly and a very hefty serving of chips. Server recommended a great choice of drinks and tried the Erdinger beer for the first time and it was the perfect pair with my meal. Would highly recommend this place.

It was my first time at this place. I went for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had almost everything from the buffet bar, the omelet was fresh and prepared with the fillings that you choose. The dessert options were good. And a lot of variety to choose, the sausage and pancakes were delicious.
Great ambience, we definitely will come back.
