The lake is gorgeous! However the way this park functions is a little bit odd. To check In, you just go to your campsite and someone will come around at 7pm to check who you are and ask if you want to buy wood for your campfire... We ended up driving to an indigenous village and paying some nice people for their wood because we didn't know you could purchase it from the rangers that drive around during the day. I'd come back for the views but don't depend on the park maintenance

Been going to Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park for over 10 yrs now. It's such a great campground with the lake surrounded by mountains! Don't believe there's one bad campsite! Outhouses are kept very clean. Not quite a 4 hr drive from Vancouver & well worth the trip! Definitely one of my favorite places to camp! Rangers come around many times after 5 pm driving by with a truck full of firewood for those who may need. I highly recommend Birkenhead Lake for all types from families to singles! Great place to go......!

Can't ask for much more from a campground. The spots are spacious and nicely spread apart, so you get a good amount of privacy pretty much wherever you are. All spots are within an easy walking distance of the breathtaking Birkenhead Lake. There is running, potable water here, along with outhouses, but no showers. You can also rent kayaks near the lake, but only during designated times. While all spots are FCFS starting in September, the campground maintains a group of FCFS spots year round, and you can typically find availability if you go during the week. There are overflow spots for when it gets really busy, although these lack the aforementioned privacy. From Pemberton town centre, this campground is about 55km with about 17km of those kilometres down a dirt road, though it is well-maintained. In my truck, it takes about an hour to the campground from Pemberton.

Fantastic location not too far from Whistler and not too far from Vancouver allowing you to drive there for a weekend great facilities allowing you to have access to clean water and bathrooms although not flush they're still a nice thing to have, in hot July lake is still a bit cold to swim

People: 4 Adults, 2 children We stayed at the campground for 2 nights. The view is beautiful and we had a great time. There are no showers, no electrical outlets, and no flushing toilets (only outhouses). At the time we went, there was no fire ban. The nights were pretty cold (around 3-5 degrees C). To check in, you go to your assigned campsite, and a campground employee comes by when they make their rounds. You can buy firewood from them. You can also rent canoes at the lake. I have a pic with some info. The nearest town is around 30mins away by car. Also, there are bears in the area, so you need to cache your food.
