Many children and youth in Canada struggle with societal barriers and face adversities in their lives like detrimental living conditions, family violence, risk factors for mental health, school issues and identity challenges.
These circumstances have nothing to do with the value of who they are or who they can become, but because of these situations, children and youth risk not having the opportunity to live up to their full potential.
Even worse is the possibility of continuing cycles of poverty and crime or developing mental health issues.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just had a pick up..literally just now...i had "GLASS" written on BOTH bags and I just saw the driver come and take the bags and THROW them on the truck...WTH, don't they read everything on the bag and not just the B.B.??? I'm not impressed at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being a big sister has been one of the best decisions I've made. The case workers are great when matching you for a mentee, as I feel like we get along so well. At first, I wasn't too sure what to expect but you get a huge sense of fulfillment and joy once your mentee starts opening up. Note the time commitment if you become a mentor, as it is once a week for the first year, but they are forgiving if you miss a few because life. There is also the option of being a buddy, and there's certainly less of a time commitment there. As for the building itself, it's beautiful. Lots of places to have a meeting, but more importantly a huge space to hang out with your mentee with a kitchen and a large tv.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disgusted with this organization. Non inclusive and discriminatory. Rather than support a strong choice made by a child in need they turned her away and added to her problems. I am embarrassed for a once supportive organization. Government $ over ethical policy I guess.
