Gorgeous Greenspan with an off leash area for the pups. Following trails into the ravine gave us a chance to find nature. Stunning

Big Bear Park has moderately large open fields and features the Blackmud Creek running through it and its own dog park. In the spring at least it can remain a bit muddy in parts and for some unknown reason it’s littered with the odd shopping cart and furniture?! A few bad Apples I suppose. However the path exposes parts of the Blackmud Creek that are quite scenic - I remember the water gushing around and over a large collection of rocks that was quite beautiful. It would seem that at least a few people like to have picnics in this park - I have yet to explore this park in its entirety. The paths only require a moderate skill but a physically handicapped person would probably meet a few challenges. A few spots on the trail seemed a bit dangerous.

Found this park by accident and was pleasantly surprised. It was cold that day but planning on going back to explore some more.

Love this park, fantastic off leash space with great pets (and owners!) and wonderful trails around Blackmud Creek ravine. Excellent space for teaching kids about game trails, spotting dens, identifying plants and looking for great rocks.

If you're up for a nice suburban prairie interface ramble, this is a lovely option. There are well trodden paths off the southern end. You can traverse an old farm house site on through a beautiful field, down past the pond to 111th.
