I called to ask if what I wanted was gluten free and the chef spoke directly to me to make sure everything was safe for me to eat. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!

The staff we normally deal with are usually great and the food is good but the person working the phone/counter Saturday was so impatient and condescending that it really turned us off the place. In particular, the refusal to answer basic questions about the menu, the incorrect order, and the fact that they called me 15 minutes after I placed my order to rudely complain thay they were closing and would not wait for me (I was in the parking lot... and who closes right at 8pm on Saturday?). My wife just gave birth a few days prior and was craving pad thai... We got noodles/beef and rude treatment despite mutiple requests (while being cut off mid sentence) to ensure veg was added to the pad thai. I hope it was a one off but a really bad experience.

All of my questions were answered with a smile..and in both English and French. We ordered - Appetizers : Satay Gai - marinated chicken served with peanut sauce on the side. Cha Gio - 3 vietnamese spring rolls stuffed with seasoned minced pork, vegetables, thread vermicelli. The spring rolls were quite good. Entrées: Bun Dac Biet - vermicelli with special grilled pork, beef and chicken with spring rolls, with cucumber, bean sprouts, lettuce, mint, green onion. This was quite delicious and a very generous portion! Shrimp Pad Thai was excellent and authentic. I asked if they made their pad thai sauce in house and was told yes, by the chef personally. Nice touch. Mango Salad - Green Mango mixed with fresh chili lime juice and spinach with a few finely sliced red onions (wish there were more onion pieces. Who knew mango and onion would go well with chili lime juice!) All in all, a very successful meal enjoyed by all. A very casual and laid back restaurant with delicious food and proper service. #localguide
S	Shimmy Dia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is not fresh at all and very low quality. BBQ pork was dry and not flavourful. There is supposed to be mint with this vermicelli dish, but there was none. The peanuts, cucumbers and bean sprouts were minimal and not fresh. There should also be lime with Vietnamese vermicelli but there was none. Cleary this is a cheap version of Vietnamese cuisine. Will be on the lookout for a quality Vietnamese restaurant in Orleans.

If you're going to order from here anyways, don't be surprised when you get a ranch salad made up of bean sprouts, onions, and a slice of tomato with your rice dish. I can't forget that overly wet rice with tasteless nuoc mam (fish sauce) and dried out protein. Yum.
