Do not buy a Moduline Modular home through Best Buy! Our experience with Best Buy and Moduline was more stressfull than building a home and we have built two. There was $6,500.00 added to our contract amount of the home and were told the $6.500.00 was for skirting, stairs and framing for the home to sit on. We were not told this when we signed the contract and the amount of $6,500.00 is not in our contract. I wrote a scathing review last year and the manager of Best Buy Kelowna Alan Baylis threatened to take me to court for defamation of character, what a joke! Then I received a phone call from the big boss of Best Buy Homes in Manitoba and he, Bernie Dargen, asked me to send him the emails between Best Buy and myself regarding the over charge of $6,500.00, so i did. This Bernie Dargen called me back and said that it looks like there has been an overcharge and there would be a cheque coming in the mail, but in good faith could I remove the bad review, so I did and never heard from Bernie Dargen again and he did not answer my emails or phone calls, basically put my on 100% ignore, oh and I never did receive any cheque in the mail. I have waited a year to put my review back in because I wanted to have all the deficiencies in our new modular home fixed which has taken over a year and they are still not all resolved and probably will never be resolved. When you send an email or call moduline or Pro Mobile (warranty company for Best Buy) they put you on ignore until you get mad and ask why are you ignoring my requests, it was one of the most frustrating issues getting this moduline home completed. I would never purchase a moduline home through Best Buy Homes in Kelowna BC again, probably wouldn't even purchase a moduline home again. The home itself is great, well the structure is, the sinks, taps, toilets, showers, cupboards and vinyl flooring are bottom of the barrel quality. We put our own sinks and taps in and glad we did. Once we got all the deficiencies fixed, we were happy with our home but it was trying to get them fixed and trying to deal with moduline and pro mobile was so frustrating because they love to put you on ignore! I think they figure if they ignore you long enough you will just get fed up and fix the deficiencies yourself! Talk to people who have recently (in the past few years) purchased a moduline modular home before you make your decision to purchase.

It appears that there is a change in Management. The current operator, Al, is worse than a used car salesman. He is a great talker, but has no recollection of the conversations, and in terms of following up ? Good luck. All talk and no action. Should you decide to call him out, and ask him to do what he promised......... He'll hang up on you. Avoid at all costs. Zero professionalism.

My husband and I checked out some homes and we were extremely impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of everyone in the office from start to finish. The whole process has made us feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in a new home! We were referred by my brother who has bought 2 homes from them and couldn’t rave enough how happy he was using them.

Our process of purchasing a home, now looking in hindsight, was really quite a leap of faith. With covid 1st coming on scene , we went on reviews, phone call conversations and photos. Never once taking a trip up to see any homes manufactured by Moduline. My sons home is a Custom Build as it is a true 30x60 (wall to wall) 1800 sq foot open concept - 3 bedroom 2 bath and the biggest rap around kitchen they have ever built, with 2 foot eves and a 24 foot dormer/eyebrow. Brandon did upgrade in many areas to have this built exactly to what he wanted. There are a few things that we are doing ourselves, to save cost, and to personalize it. We only dealt with Dennis as I felt confident in his honesty in designing Brandons home into what specs WE wanted. Dennis and I had many conversations over the course of this design and he never once put me off. Always there for my calls or emails (and there were lots lol). Being that we live on Vancouver island, our time frame for a safe non damaging (side ways rain season we have here in the winter months) set up had to be delayed until May 2021 and we purchased the home in Aug 2020. Moduline was wonderful in allowing us to hold off and didn't start to commence building until March 2021. The finishers, JOEL AND JARROD, are absolutely wonderful. They went above and beyond putting in 12 to 14 hour days for straight 14 days. I surprised my son with a custom pantry door, and not only did they go 300 KM out of their way to grab it for me, they also installed it. Their workmanship, dedication and very friendly personalities made this such a pleasure. We are still in the process of completing our final touches on the home and hope to have photos when it all completed to show. On a footnote, I have given many tours of the home with potential buyers looking to do the same for themselves. They have all been waiting for Brandons big day and even the kindergarten kids were watching the 2 cranes placing the home on the 4 foot walls. Quite a show for sure. My new home turned out beautifully! The staff at Kelowna Best Buy homes was very helpful and knowledgeable, and helped me custom design my home. The staff was always available and answer all my emails in timely fashion. The set up/delivery crew was wonderful and built me a beautiful custom deck. The finishers Joel & Jarrod were absolutely AMAZING!!! They completed everything in a very timely manner, very knowledgeable and professional. Their attention to detail was outstanding! I couldn’t be happier with my kitchen tile and all the other work they did.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! we purchased a modular home at the end of 2020. Due to careless individuals and being understaffed when our home arrived and was set up, we are now dealing with many different issues that no homeowner should be going through. The most frustrating is Ants have literally taken over inside my home. They are building colonies inside the walls, the marriage line where the 2 pieces of the modular were put together and are coming out of every baseboard and crack.I just had a thorough Inspection done underneath my home and it was very apparent that things were not set up and sealed properly… who does that?! This is our home where we live with our children…the marriage line where the house is conjoined isn’t even taped over let alone spray foamed… I have contacted the people we initially dealt with as well as their warranty company and no one will even return my calls let alone prioritize helping me to get this under control !! I’m furious! I have already paid to have the home fumigated and now I am looking at $500-$1000 to get everything spray foam, taped, sealed and set up properly to ensure these problems don’t continue to be such a major issue every season for us. DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME THROUGH BEST BUY!!!

I will start my review with the date that I ordered my new home. I put a down payment on my house in April of 2021. Fast forward to February 2022. Finally received my home. This company continually increased the cost of my home during this time as well they continually pushed back the finish time. Original completion date was set for September 2021. Information was repeatedly omitted from purchase contracts including but not limited to installation of eavestrough, installation and purchasing of propane (something they didn't feel needed to be advertised until December 2021), and installation of a water line for the refrigerator. Not to mention the cracked tiles, popped baton strips, and chipped trim throughout the house that was left to be fixed "at another date". The hidden costs associated with purchasing a house through Best Buy Homes is astronomical when compared to the quality of customer service. I would not recommend working with anyone at this company and would sooner go to any other Moduline Retailer. As well I would stay away from their sales people that hide behind the statement "if it wasn't stated on the contract then we weren't responsible". Regardless of whether they offered the option or not this is not how customer service works. Be wary the next time you consider this company.
