I was quite surprised when I walked through the doors of this cottage, not only is it in the perfect location, it's also quite cozy and peaceful. If it wasn't out of my price range i could see myself making several trips here. Overall it's been a pleasant experience.
C	CJ C on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just returned from staying at the Bellhouse Seaside Cottage and we recommend it. It is in Sturdies Bay so that it is easy to access restaurants, pub, and grocery store. Years ago we stayed at a place miles north on the island that was mice infested and dank smelling, and not right on the water. This cottage was perfect with cleanliness, supplies to make meals, coffee and it is right on the water. It is pet friendly which is still hard to find these days and it is perfect dog walking country. There is a lovely beach to walk to on Farmhouse Rd. The cottage is small, but fine for 2 or 3 people. Nice deck to watch the ferries go by and it feels like you can almost touch them. Lots of deer and fawns eating apples from trees down the road. We are seniors and the furniture was a bit low for rising out of, but bring a couple of cushions and you will be fine. All that is missing is a hammock on the deck to snooze. lol Owners were nice to deal with. We will return. Four star is a great review from me.
A	Anne Alcock on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our recent stay at Bellhouse Cottage was not a good one. At the beginning when we booked it, Carol was very prompt in answering my emails. We have stayed at many cottages in our lifetime, and this was the first time that I got a feeling a few days before that perhaps we had been scammed. We thought it was strange that she has no phone number where she could be called or texted, just emails. Carol told me in an email that she would be sending me all the particulars "a few days before our arrival", via email. We were to arrive on Feb. 14th and still had not received that vital email by Feb. 13th. I emailed Carol 3 times on Feb. 12th and received nothing. As you can imagine, we were beginning to panic when we still received nothing all day, until finally at after 5:00 the evening of the 13th, voila, there it was! She also sent a rather insulting email to tell us we shouldn't have panicked. She said in her email that she had sent it to me on the 12th, and she also said she hadn't looked at any emails until 5:00 on the 13th. We know that she did not email us anything on the 12th, as she said she had. So, that was the beginning of our altogether bad experience. We arrived at the cottage to find a less than clean cottage, with furniture that look like it had come from the side of the road where someone was giving it away. An arm on the couch was missing! Terrible light in the kitchen area.....we could go on and one, but we aren't going to say any more about the cottage than this. We will never stay there again.
