Friendly and knowledgeable, and reasonably priced compared to the typical canoe seller because they are the manufacturer. They have great canoes that are well balanced, lightweight (if you get the kevlar ones) and a pleasure to paddle. They'll make sure you know how to get your new canoe tied onto your car so that you can get it home and to that lake or river you want to explore.

Just picked bought a Canoe from here. Researched In advance many Kevlar Models from other companies. These guys have incredible prices since they are manufacturing them. I was in and out In 10 minutes with a 16 ft Kevlar model on my roof with straps sponges and 2 paddles. Knowledgeable and fast.

Terrific place for canoe sales and service. Bought my canoe 5 years ago and they're the only ones I send it too for touch ups. Just got skid plates installed and they look great. Highly recommend.

Not a horrible place if you are looking for a cheap canoe to buy. However they tend to over sell both their quality and sturdiness. When we wanted to bring back our canoe which had multiple punctures and was covered by their so called 10 year warranty, we were met with hostility over the phone and accusations we had taken it down heavy white water. And they hadn't even seen it yet! This was after we had had extensive discussions with them when we bought it about where we were canoeing and would it last. So, if you want a cheap lake canoe that will never see a rock - go there. Anything else - go somewhere else!

In my experience, pricing and customer service is 5/5 but product quality is 4/5. I purchased their standard 17' V-hull kevlar canoe. The good: It tracks nice and straight and has very good primary stability. The yoke is deep and as comfortable as it gets. It's the cheapest new kevlar canoe you can buy. The bad: I would not trust it in heavy weather since it is the least rigid canoe I have been in after renting various kevlars for 20+ years. I suspect this issue is partly due to the thin, tubular gunwale used. Swift and Nova Craft (and pretty much everyone else) use an L-shaped gunwale which resists flexion better. Interior finish is not as refined as other manufacturers. The sides of the hull are vertical (not curving in like a prospector) so people with short arms will have to reach out a little further to get their paddle in the water. I think these are fair criticisms since Beach Marine advertises "Kevlar canoes 50% off", implying their canoes should be comparable to something that retails for twice the price. Their canoes are inexpensive because they have made design and manufacturing choices to save money, and there's less markup because you're buying directly from the manufacturer. Customer service is still 5/5 because I brought my hull rigidity concerns to them and they gladly took my canoe in and make modifications to improve the stability, and they gave me zero hassle! I recommend their 17' V-hull if you are a short-trip, fair-weather, back-country canoeist with lots of gear (or people) to carry. On longer trips (when bad weather can be unpredictable) I would not feel as safe in one of these canoes as I would in a name-brand canoe. If I hardly did any portaging, I would spend half the money and just get a fiberglass or plastic canoe. In the end I'm happy with my purchase and the service I've received.

I've rented canoes many times from Beach Marine. I have never had a problem. Each time I've been able to pick up the night before without any additional charge. Rentals are all in excellent shape. I rent their kevlar canoes for back country camping. They also sell many types of canoes, kayaks, and even custom jobs. They will even show you how to properly secure it to your vehicle and provide straps, rope and the foam blocks to protect your vehicle's roof. Go here and you will be very happy. Owner is great. They know what they are doing. They have also been a Hamilton business for as long as I can remember.

Amazing service and very likely the best value you can get when purchasing a newly minted canoe anywhere in Ontario. We ordered ahead and simply rolled in to pick the canoe up, quick and efficient. They even helped us efficiently strap the canoe onto our car. Overall an amazing experience.
