I have been going to Bob for quite a few years now. He is absolutely the best. He never talks down to you, is scrupulously honest and never charges for things he doesn't do. He works with you to get what you need done. He is a very good man. I would recommend him to anyone (and have) without reservation.

I recently needed a mechanic in the Port Coquitlam area and used Yelp's reviews to locate a solid business. I found him... Bob is the owner of BDL and his assistance, advise, knowledge, respect and down right straight shooter attitude is fabulous! It turned out that the radiator coolant turned acidic and destroyed the guts of my car. He clearly described what happened, why it happened and the work required to repair the vehicle (which would have been sweet multiple k dollars in his pocket) BUT he instead treated me as a friend and gave the best possible option - it's not worth the spend. The courtesy car was in use so he gave me his personal pickup to use for the weekend...who does that?!! He's purchased my vehicle for parts and is helping me with his advise in buying a replacement. I've pretty much nailed it down and have made arrangements to bring it to him to inspect. I know he'll tell me everything I need to know. He's got me as a loyal client now and I'll refer him to anyone and everyone. You can trust this guy! On top of that he's really personable and has a good sense of humour too!!

I've taken my car to Bob twice in the last little while for an inspection. The first time he identified what the problem was and sent me back to the mechanic who originally did the work to correct it. He also identified something two previous mechanics missed which could have been dangerous for me to keep driving my vehicle unsuspecting. He is a very trustworthy and nice man. Bob is definitely an honest mechanic. If your car does not need certain repairing or maintenance Bob will tell you and save you the money. Also he does the best brakes I have ever have done to my car. The break pads last forever, I think he uses ceramic, but whatever they are made of, they last longer than from anywhere else.

I just went to BDL Automotive Service and Repair for an inspection of my car and also because I thought that one of my back wheel had an alignment problem. When I got there I explain to the owner (Bob) that I got rear-ended about 1 year ago and that it seems like now my tire at the back is now wearing unevenly. Bob told me that I since the accident was less than 2 years ago I should just bring the car back to the original shop that made the repairs because this would be cover under ICBC and this way I would not have to pay for anything. I was quite impress with that answer because he could just have decided to make a buck out of me and he did not. I still ask him if he could perform an inspection of the car to see if anything else is wrong because I suspected that my brakes might be getting close to be changed. He said no problem, give me the key of the courtesy car and perform the inspection in about 1 hour and a half. After the inspection was done I return to the shop and Bob told me that my car is in perfect order (aside from the back wheel) and that I have about 50% left on my brake pads so there is no point to change them right now. Once again, I was impress with his honesty because every single time I went to a garage (like Canadian Tire for example) they try to convince me that there is at least one thing wrong with my car. At that point I asked him how much do I own you for the inspection to which he replies: "I did not change anything on your car, I did not have to replace or top up any fluids so you do not own me anything, it is free." I told him thank you and that I just got a new customer. I very really take time to write review online but my experience with Bob and the shop was so great that I thought I should try to do something so that he can get more customers. Bob is a great mechanic who cares about his customers. He's helped me through a few tough spots with my car. Always gives advice on cheapest vs best ways to fix things. Been going here for years and even though I no longer live in the area, I drive out to bring him my car. Highly recommended.

Very honest mechanic. Estimate was precise and it was obvious Bob knows his trade very well. He saved me quite a bit of money by letting me know I didn't have to get as much work done as originally thought and he finished the work ahead of the time promised. Very happy with the quality of the repairs. I will definitely be using him in the future and will recommend him to others as well.
