★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff and volunteers are great. My husband and I were too late to adopt an available kitten in January and they took the time to look at other locations to see if there were other kittens available. They also recommended another organization to contact. We eventually adopted one kitten at the Surrey SPCA and are adopting another from the West Van branch. The SPCA does amazing work!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This experience went so efficiently and smooth. The staff at West Van SPCA and the Foster cat parent made everything extremely easy and had tons of extra info for me. Also they helped make some arrangements for a script the cat needed at a local vet. This organization operates on an extremely tight budget and performed better than powerful corporations do in most cases. Thank you so much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a nice experience! We don't often take time to leave reviews, but really wanted to thank Brynne, who made our adoption process very easy and so rewarding. We initially wanted to adopt a kitten, but found they always went very quickly. Following the interview process, we went in and had a million questions about a 3 year old cat who had been rescued from a hoarding situation (it was our first adoptive pet). Brynne had very knowledgeable answers to all our questions, was very lovely, and let us spend as much time as we needed with the cat to make sure it was a good fit on both sides. Thank you so much!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a pleasure it was adopting our new puppy from the SPCA. My partner and I came in on a busy Friday morning where everyone was inquiring about our puppies litter.
Not only were they informative, patient and also caring of the animals, they made sure everyone who came in were rightly informed and were so kind and personable with everyone even though they were super busy!
My partner and I were very lucky in getting the last puppy and we couldn't be more thrilled. The staff were so helpful in answering our questions and very non-judgemental! I felt super comfortable and in good hands.
Such a positive experience and highly recommend everyone to adopt from this incredibly ran shelter! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (WHY YOU DELETED MY PHOTO OF THE DOG YOU EUTHANIZED)?
I am sorry for the long and sad post. I wish I never had to post this. SPCA should reconsider their protocols and they way they deal with problematic dogs. I've been there since July , and we witnessed euthanasia of three dogs ( 2 puppies , one young adult ). Global new already covered the story of the 10 month old Echo. About Hunter another dog, we spent hours with him cuddling and walking, and he was VERY CALM AND GENTLE with people AND WE NEVER SAW AN AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR. He was a big dog(great Pyrenees) and he didn't like other animals. Nonetheless, SPCA put him in a home with a cat , and the cat was badly injured by Hunter ,but the manager of SPCA West Vancouver first told me that the cat is killed but when I asked the details she said that the cat was injured.
About Chuck , he was an excitable one-year-old Labrador - pit-bull mix, but the SPCA dog trainer many times did not let volunteers walk Chuck. Even our little dog gets so hyperactive if I don't walk him for a day!!! Both dogs were quickly and surprisingly euthanized and SPCA keeps these cases secret from the public.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We adopted a rabbit from this branch and everything went smoothly and efficiently. We communicated the most with Brynne and she was friendly, helpful, and supportive! The new bun and our other bunny have happily bonded and we are so glad to be able to provide a loving home for this little guy. He was found wandering on the streets before the SPCA rescued him. Now he is safe and loved by us :)
