They are not there to do anything.
They don't care about consumer protection or illegal activity. They are looking for someone that broke the BC FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ACT.
That means nothing if you don't protect people using all Canadian laws.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Foot-dragging, willful blindness & deference (& all out corruption). BC Financial Services Authority is just another corrupt / money grabbing institution designed to employ friends. Best idea I have is to post a picture of their dysfunction. I would have to say that most regulatory bodies in Canada are a sham. They are nearly all "non profits" that are run like a cash cow for the folks that run them (while doing nothing to protect citizens) and pay themselves a healthy wage. Remember a non profit is just a business in which there are no external shareholders to keep an eye on day to day transaction. Non profits were designed by white-collar criminals for the most part and is a growing industry to create self employment and dodge taxes. The other half of regulatory institutions in Canada are run by the federal or provincial governments & are highly corrupt institutions used to protect crimes that bring in tax dollars to British Columbia. Lots of back-room backslapping and handshaking. (re; casino money laundering that everyone knew was happening and that was a contributing factor that drove up housing prices to what they are today).
