Very nice brunch spot! Staff is friendly and the food is great. I really recommend the sweet potato and halloumi waffles, but I was a bit disappointed with the house pancakes, quite tough and rubbery

This place is a must try [at least once] because of their creative drinks and picture perfect plates. The latte sprinkled with cereal was delicious. The chicken and waffle was more on the sweat side rather than savoury but it was super cool to try a waffle made of sweet potatoes. The matcha pancakes come with a white chocolate dressing and it was sweetness overload, not sure how many people love that so early in the morning, but you could pair it with a black americano to balance it out. Service was nothing impressive but they tried their best to be friendly. We were seated in a booth by the window, because we had no reservation, not sure if the experience would have been different if seated elsewhere.

Great atmosphere. Been here a few times and the food isn’t great, but it’s a fun fresh atmosphere so I’d still go back. Very instagrammable food. The cereal milk oat latte doesn’t taste like cereal but is fun, mine came with a brunch of fruit loops. I’ve gotten other flavored lattes that were good. The vegan egg looks horrible; the agar coating is all uneven but it tasted pretty good if not bland. Don’t get the potato skin “chips”, they were as awful as they sound - the skins belong in the trash, at least the way they cooked them. This was part of the vegan steak and eggs. Mushrooms were ok but I can make them better myself. Not really seared or caramelized. Like I said the potato skins sucked taste wise, were inedible. Vegan egg was ok kind of didn’t taste like anything, they didn’t flavor it just tried to make it look realistic. So it was basically plain vegan “jelly”. The whites tasted better than the yolk. Shakshuka with vegan egg was ok, not bad but not super great. Not at all authentic shakshuka - it was not a tomato sauce, more like a sour green salsa. Small portion but filling and healthy. Food overall is pretty bland.

In a city with so many food and coffee options, this place still manages to offer its customers an incredibly unique experience. The owner, being of a marketing background, has mastered the art of “eating with your eyes”; this is visible in the fun and colourful dishes and beverages that is offered through the menu. The quality didn’t stop at the appearance. It carried through to the flavour of each item we ordered. Bravo!

This place is super cool! Decoration is great, food & signature beverages are AMAZING! We really enjoyed it! The one thing that made this experience not perfect is that unfortunately the service was ULTRA slow… took a while to come see us once we were seated to the point where by the time the waitress came we had already scanned the entire menu and were ready to order. The worse part was the 30 minute wait for the bill ??‍♀️ I understand everyone is short-staffed but there were a decent amount of employees walking around the place… anyways! FOOD GREAT, AMBIANCE GREAT, service can be better…

Super cozy place for brunch. The vibe was great. Unfortunately the food did not match what I saw. I had the fried chicken waffle. The chicken was extremely sweet and I could not believe I only had half a waffle. All the Chicken Waffle I have eaten in my life always came with a whole waffle. The latte tasted very blend and the pancakes were almost brunt. They did taste amazing though. The dish that my partner ordered tasted awful. Not sure if she chose the right dish but definitely a bad choice. The experience there could have been better if the price they charged was not as expensive. I get it that with inflation, everything is more expensive but at I don’t mind paying more for good stuff.

Barley has an interesting vibe that is comfortable and inviting even though it kind of clashes with its unique and "instagrammable" food and beverage offerings. Service was decent; very polite but was quite slow and never checked in on us. My cereal latte was adorable and had a beautiful presentation. Beyond that, it was just that: a latte with cereal on it. There was nothing that blended these flavors together and I feel like a lot of improvement can be made here. This is in stark contrast to the matcha pancakes which were absolutely delicious. Finally, and perhaps the only upsetting/disappointing aspect of the menu was the chicken atop a sweet potato waffle. For almost $20 I definitely expected more than half a waffle and a measly piece of chicken. What was doubly upsetting was that both the chicken and waffles were fantastic. However I was disappointed when my love for the meal was short-lived and all I had left to contend with was half a plate of rather tasteless coleslaw. Barley checks the vibe and taste boxes for the most part but it's holding itself back from being truly amazing.

Great service by Dray. Also great welcome by the very young staff. Not easy to find these days. Food was good and well priced. Fried chicken was like a milanesa so dryer. Sweet and lil spicy, goes well with sweetness from syrup. Would come back, very laid back :)
