★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Freshly baked sourdough bread got our immediate attention and then the many other baked products, such as muffins and croissants drew us here 3 of the 5 days we were here on Salt Spring Island...the coffee was very tasty and we enjoyed every last drop of our soup..the staff were super friendly and even though we all needed masks and stood in line , the atmosphere was totally engaging and welcoming.. we enjoyed every minute we were there..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very busy, but fast customer service. They didn't heat up our food, but I think you need to ask for it to be done. The place was quite dirty. The tables weren't clean and the floors were streaked with food crumbs and dirt.
The food however was pretty good. The croissant was amazing, the carrot cake was good, and so was the smoothie. They make it with fresh fruit! Also got the pizza twist and that tasted quite good too! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every time I come to Salt Spring, I mostly eat at Barb’s. I highly recommend the chicken pot pie, the smoked salmon chowder, the breakfast sandwiches, the PB banana roll, the sourdough bread, the chicken salad sandwich, kale salad, ginger cookies, and the the lemon roll. Perfect and delicious food on the go to stock an Airbnb and our backpacks for adventuring. I’ve eaten at a lot of places on the island and I keep coming back to Barb’s. In fact, I always make sure I arrive on a weekday so I don’t miss out because they’re closed on the weekends.
