★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sister restaurant of Cafe Saigon on St-André (corner of Ste Catherine Est). Almost same menu as the one downtown... especially their famous General Tao Vietnamese style!
This is where you can still buy the so good sandwiches they use to sell at Cafe Saigon. The best is to call and order ahead of time as the quantity are limited, so don’t just show up as you will be disappointed.

Such bad customer service, i got yelled at for asking for a recommendation. And the banh mis were super dry and not tasty at all.

Relaxed atmosphere with friendly service.
I got the shrimp satay soup and it was so good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been going there regularly for five years now. The service is personable and so friendly, the food is incredible, and the price point and portion size is excellent. Even my mother approves.
Their Tonkinese soup/pho is wonderful, the broth is so complex, and I always crave it when I'm feeling sad or sick. The grilled beef used in the banh mi or combo plates is so beautifully seasoned every time. Spring rolls are fresh and tasty and full of herbs as they should be, too. The grilled chicken is also always delicious and juicy.
I have never had a bad meal here, ever, and its remarkably consistent. I assume the bad reviews are from people who don't bother to make sure they're reviewing the right restaurant, since there's lots of 'Saigons' in Montreal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 stars for the food. I ordered spicy soup with rice noodles. The soup is thicker and the noodles are thinner than I expected. It's different from the ones I had before but taste good as well. One more star for the excellent service and fair price.
