King (PK) and Pern (Peerakarn) were born and raised in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, where you will find food at every street corner. They grew up eating and cooking a lot of delicious street foods such as Moo-Ping (skewers of grilled pork marinated in Thai herbs), Khao-Man-Kai (seasoned sliced chicken served over herb-studded jasmine rice, with cucumber and garlic ginger sauce), Meat Balls with spicy sweet and sour sauce and Tom Yum Noodle Soup and much more...
After having operated 2 successful Thai restaurant for several years and currently own 2 of the famous ones - Thai Nongkhai Restaurant and De Thai Cuisine - King and Pern wanted to branch out and offer something unique and found that they feel the need to bring street food all the way from Bangkok to Calgary and have selected their favorites and introductory Thai street food menu for your pleasure.
"While most of our dishes contain meat, vegetarian and gluten free items are available too. And most dishes can be made vegetarian or gluten free upon request" says owner King. Not only does Thai food cater to meat lovers, vegetarian dishes like Deep Fried Tofu and Thai Curries are also available. Each year the number of Vegans increases, Thai street food thus offers more variety.
Bangkok Street Food offer delicious Thai street food for lunch and dinner and in between snacks and finishing up with wonderful Thai desserts. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing. First, my food was served alongside chopsticks, which aren't generally used in Thailand. I ordered the veggie balls and the Tom Yum Noodle soup with maximum spice. Veggie balls were good, but the soup was lacklustre. It was barely even zippy, let alone the kind of heat that it should have had. My experience wasn't bad...it just wasn't that great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've gotten take out from Bangkok street food twice now, and both times it's been really good. First time I had the red curry, second time, the drunken noodles, both vegetarian with tofu. The only thing I would change is that both menu items indicated they are very spicy, and neither were really spicy, I would say more on the mild side. I added a lot of sriracha to my drunken noodles! Still, I would go back and maybe just ask for them to kick it up a notch, which you may also want to do if you love the spice like I do! Really tasty food, highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been here a few times now and I love the basil stir fry. I have been searching for cashew chicken for years as good as one I used to have in Edmonton. While not cashew chicken, this is a very close second. Makes a great lunch, generous amount of chicken, crisp vegetables and a good ball of rice and sauce. I will be here every week.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Strongly recommend the papaya salad and the drunken shrimp noodles! Authentic thai flavor, fresh ingredients, good comfort food after a day of hard work. This gem is located inside the Fresh&Local Market&Kitchens in Avenida Village. Similar quality to Thai’s Juree.
