Great taste, good price. The quail has a great flavor. The waitresses are so kindly!

Solid Portuguese food at a good price, but some service issues. Food was great, large portions and the bread and red sauce app was really good. Drinks are cheap. The place was empty when we went, with just one server. They were out of a bunch of menu items, and one of our steaks was accidentally cooked well done instead of rare, but the waitress was sympathetic and sorted everything out. We even got free espresso once they fixed the machine!

Great food although I agree with another poster about the potatoes always being under cooked and rubbery. By far though the food is great and good value for the money... Check it out if you can find parking which may be tough most times due to the over zealousness of the swarming meter maids in the area... Their soups are absolutely delicious and one of my favourite things to eat there so give them a try. Great place for take out food or a quick bite and highly recommended.

On vacation and has looked forward to trying Portuguese food. We were very disappointed. Very long wait to be given menus, over 15 min, although staff were walking past with them in their hands. Said excuse me several times but no one seemed to hear. Ordered pear cider& received apple. Asked bar tender if they had pear and he asked if I was seated, there is no standup bar so not sure where he thought I was coming from. Told me I needed to wait for my waiter to check. What?, he’s the bartender. The waiter saw me but turned his back to fill bread baskets. Final the Bartender looked in the cooler door at his knee to tell me that’s all they had. Food was bland, chicken salty, rice had chunks of hard rice which I’d originally thought were small chicken bones and removed them from my mouth. My friend had mushroom veal and the veal was not tender & over cooked with canned mushrooms. Waiter did not return to offer a second drink. Left very disappointed. Ate at Zito Zito in Little Italy last night and it was amazing.

Being the foodie of the group, It was up to me to choose a restaurant for dinner before seeing a show. Bairrada Churrasqueira is located right across the street from our destination and I've been to their College Street location before so it seemed like a good choice. It was! Most of our group of ten weren't very familiar with Portuguese cuisine, other than the popular grilled chicken. While four of us opted for the chicken, five chose seafood, and I opted for a steak, listed as one of the house specialties. I had a chance to taste the chicken and it was very good, as good as I remembered. The seasoning and cook was spot on. I also tried the Bacalhau (Codfish) and it was very good. It was a large portion, more than what my friend could eat, so enough for sharing. Although a tad salty (expected), this was very tasty. A few of us tasted this and all agreed, Yummy! The Garoupa (Grouper Steak) was huge, taking up most of the space on the plate. It looked really good. It must have been because my friend wouldn't share! The Robalo (Sea Bass) was also beautifully presented as a whole fish and looked delicious! I heard it was very good. The Lulas Grelhadas (Grilled Calamari) looked really good but my friend said it was just okay. He didn't elaborate but he finished it so it must have been good, maybe not as spectacular as he had expected. I had the Bife a Casa (House Steak), listed as one of the house specialties. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't what I expected it to be. I was looking forward to a nice juicy medium-rare grilled steak with fries. What I got was a steak in a dish, smothered with gravy, a fried egg, and completely covered with potato chips. Now I know. All the dishes were attractively presented. The seafood portions were on the larger side, while the chicken was average sized. There's a steam table at the front counter for takeout orders and a nice dining area at the back of the space. Pricing represented a good value and the service was very good. We all left happy and will return.

Great customer service! Didn't have food reserved on a busy day and they gave me my order. Good planning on by the staff. Food was great as well! Perfect location as well as it is beside a bakery.

This place was my No. 1 spot after moving to Toronto in 2018, with huge portions at reasonable prices. The chicken and bitoque (egg over steak) were excellent. But food quality has dropped noticeably, their same desserts are available for significantly cheaper at area bakeries and now that I no longer live in the area it's difficult to justify eating there versus picking up food from other eateries on Dundas/College W. Hope this place bounces back as it was an elite spot three or four years ago.
