★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great vibe and great atmosphere. Pricing was on point for the product. They had a number of beers to choose from but in summary, none really popped for flavour. I would say it’s a must stop but not my favourite Nelson Brewery. Staff was very helpful and enjoyed it is in the Ale Trail app.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This brewery and taproom is well situated on the main strip of the city. There are bites and food offerings - the pretzels are baked in house and the sausage is sourced locally. Most importantly the beers are awesome. Our favorites included the Saison and Porter. The staff are exceptional and there's a glowing vibe day and night. Don't miss this place when you're in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cozy little microbrewery in the heart of Nelson! Rustic decor, large sidewalk patio, and friendly service make this an enjoyable place to try a flight of various small batch brews. Don't forget to purchase a 1L or 2L growler of your favorite from Backroads Brewing Co.!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started off as a great experience…bartender poured us some tasters, then a pint around 9:30. They mentioned last call was soon, but no big deal. We were having a great time, until 9:55 when the bartender came out and told us “we are closing and you must finish your drinks”. He did not specify a time or duration, so we carried on chatting and sipping our drinks. At 10:20, he came by again and said “we closed 20 minutes ago and I poured your drinks 50 minutes ago.” At this point, even though they advertised being open until 11:00 PM, we were kicked out before 10:30 PM and could not finish our drinks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enjoyed our visit to Backroads Brewery. The Elderflower & Elderberry cider was delicious & sour. My husband has the Eldorado beer and enjoyed it as well. The pretzel was a little over-done but the mustard side dip was delightful!
