Aw Excavating And Drainage

During the November storms half of our basement flooded three times. We called AW Excavating and Drainage because they were in Mission and also were registered with the BBB. We phoned them and Don came over right away with a verbal quote, then his workmen dug a hole and put in a sump pump right away. From December 1st to the 4th they dug up part of the north side, the west side, and partial east periimeters of the house to the front steps. They took out old blocked perimeter drainage pipes and installed new ones. They gave us a five year warranty which only lasted five weeks. During the next big rain the basement flooded even worse than before. We asked Don to come back and fix the problems. He said he was coming over several times, but never showed up. Instead he sent his men who said "the pipes must be frozen', and dug up part of the perimeter drain again. The pipes have not frozen in our 12 years here. So then they said it was our fault for asking for gravel under the pipes. After gaining a little more knowledge we asked them to make sure they had sealed any cracks correctly, to add membrane and dimple board which they agreed to. However on the second day we discovered them filling the trench back in without doing anything that had been agreed. We had to send them home. We called a different company who came over immediately to assess the problem., His company dug up the trench again and discovered that AW had installed the pipes above the footing rather than at the bottom of the footing and only installed perforated pipe which was not CSA approved and no solid pipe to connect with the drainpipes from the roof. The cracks in the foundation were not filled correctly and the remaining east side pipe had not been flushed out. On top of that they merely buried any older pipes and left the yard in a mess. Sadly I have to give them one star in order to post this review.
