I worked for Astro for a little over 5 months as a sub-contractor on one job doing many various tasks related to steel framing & drywall. I worked on a piecework rate for majority of the work but some hourly in between tasks do to schedules. In the process of the piecework, rates and times were agreed upon beforehand but I was constantly requested to work under poor, unsafe, dirty, unorganized conditions with shortage of materials & supplies to do the job. Power was not supplied during part of the job due to electrical issues & when agreed to charge hourly on top rather then increasing the price they ended up cutting those hours in half. The job had improper asbestos removal, temp employees demoing live water, gas & power lines on multiple occasions causing work areas to be flooded erasing interior layout. They expect you to work in these conditions even when other trades are putting control zones around you coring above you, unable to coordinate appropriately. The Forman Mark Mott expects you to do his job by dealing with these issues and constantly ask you to do little things for free but when you ask about if they want you to do this extra work as hourly or piecework they make the excuse that your already making money. The boss Mike Scabo has no idea what’s going on at his jobs apparently An agreement is an agreement. These guys backcharged me for work that my co-worker did 3 months prior that I had nothing to do with, they docked me on my footages when I physically measured out the walls etc, that I built. They claim they need the overall footage billed on a floor so they end up docking you because somebody else overbilled in the past just because they take things personally. I was docked an extra $100 on items picked up for me at hilti and many other little things. On my last bill I ended up getting ripped off about $1200, it took so much arguing just to get a small portion of it back. If you work for these guys, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS SCAM COMPANY I was hired by Mark to perform work on a Carrington Construction project. We agreed on a piece work rate which was an insult to my years of experience. Quickly it was obvious that this company was cutting corners and not following industry standards. Units are loaded short and needs to be reloaded but don't expect to get paid for the extra work. Also worked a total of 47 hours over 3 days and never got paid for that either. I tried to reach the owner Mike Zabo but he never picked the phone. Drove to their head office but every time it was closed. This is a scam company. Stay away
