It was evident he was getting into all the nooks and crannies of this older heritage home. His digital report included pictures and detailed information. We spent a solid hour or more going through the home with Greg. He made sure we understood both the good and the bad pieces of the home. He’s passionate about doing a good job for his clients and obviously enjoys it. His home inspection pointed out a handful of issues that our insurance provider didn’t like. In the end, we couldn’t get insurance and had to back away from the purchase. We will definitely be using him for future home purchases.

Meet Greg. Greg is not only the most detailed oriented inspector I’ve come across, but he clearly loves what he’s doing and genuinely wants to make sure his client’s are confident on the home they’re purchasing. You will not regret hiring him and you’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t.

The whole process was amazing, Greg was super easier to communicate with and was incredibly detailed and thorough in his inspection and report. If you choose to work with Greg you will know everything about your house, the good, the bad and the ugly (fingers crossed for you there's not to much ugly). He's also really easy to talk to, if you have any questions, are confused about anything he's saying, just don't know the lingo or in my case as someone who grew up in Northern Queensland, Australia and knows absolutely nothing about Heat Pumps, Electric Furnaces ect. He is more than happy to stop, show you and explain it until you understand. Due to the incredible detail Greg goes into, it's made things like insurance applications go that much smoother due to all the extra information I had on hand. Which a huge bonus when the previous owner gives you none. 100% would recommend giving Greg from Assured Home Inspections a call.

The post-inspection walkthrough was clear and made it obvious that Greg had gone thru the house with a fine comb and that he really knows what he’s talking about. The written inspection report was produced quickly and was also very clear and easy to read with lots of photos supporting the report and identifying present and potential issues with the house. I was told by a realtor once that Greg is "a seller's worst nightmare" because he doesn't miss anything: he is truly a buyer's best friend. His inspections are incredibly thorough, and his report is the same. He'll provide you with ideas about how to rectify issues and ballpark costs. His reports have allowed me to negotiate successfully with sellers when there are issues, and have given me a comprehensive "to do" list with timeframes for repairs/delayed maintenance on the home I bought. Buying a house in Nelson is overwhelming - the houses are old, sometimes built piecemeal, and they often have unusual issues that you do not want to be surprised by. Greg will give you the information you need to feel confident in your decision to move forward with a sale. I recommended Greg to my brother, and he had the same experience. He showed up at the property promptly, despite the 2 hour travel time to our remote area and horrible travel weather. "Rain is the best weather for a house inspection!" he said enthusiastically. Solid point! Greg's passion for his work is enviable and it's clear that he enjoys what he does. His digital report with photos and detailed explanations made it very easy for us to go back to the seller to negotiate the price down significantly based on his findings; it's pretty hard to argue with photos.
