★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A much-needed initiative in the City of Brandon, to protect old growth oak/maple forest and provide interpretive nature trails for the community. Dave Barnes, a local outdoor enthusiast and nature guide, is generous enough to share his own property for environmental/outdoor education and many events throughout the year. The private-public land area for the AFF project is about 50 acres and will hopefully see not only forest protection and establishment of a food forest (fruit trees, etc.), but also wetland management and expansion. I wish the best to you and the team, Dave!! June 4th, 2019 should be a great day at City Hall.
