About Arrowquip

Our story begins in 1988 on the Firth Family farm in Tamworth, Australia. As the son of a farmer, Phil Firth saw the opportunity to improve the way his family managed their livestock, and created his first cattle chute for personal use on the family farm. Within a year, local veterinarians saw the potential of his design and were drawn to the focus of a safer way to work with cattle. The Firth Family began building chutes to sell to local veterinarians, and the brand grew rapidly over the next few years to dominate the Australian cattle industry.

In 2003, the Firth Family partnered with the Langrells from rural Manitoba, and started building their first cattle chutes in North America. Like the Firths, the Langrell family brought generations of cattle ranching expertise to the table and together they began crafting the most innovative cattle chutes and handling equipment ever seen in the industry.

We’ve owned β€œthe general” for about six months. It replaced a hydraulic chute we had owned for over 20 years. We are very happy with the general. It works well for everything from 400 lb calves to herd bulls. It’s easy to access whatever area of the animal you need while still being securely restrained. Additionally, the electric power pack is very quiet which is a real benefit when we spend several hours a day processing cattle.

All I can say is WOW. Not only the most user friendly and effective cattle handling equipment but also the most professional and responsive staff. I can't say enough good things about the equipment. It is extremely well-built, safe, quiet, durable, and flat looks good. The service provided by Arrowquip has been great too. Really good people who have taken time out of their day to even help us on a Sunday afternoon when we had questions regarding the set up. Great company is made up of great people and they certainly have excellent people.

It works great. Cattle move through the chute much easier and faster than my ww. My wife and kids help work cattle, so safety was my biggest concern. This chute is both safe for the cattle and the people working them. Couldn’t be any happier with the purchase.

Arrowquip equipment is by far the best I’ve used to handle my cattle. I have an old powder river squeeze chute that necessitates a hard hat when working near it. I did a lot of shopping prior to buying my Q-Catch 87 series. The ease of moving the actuating bar to the location where one person can run the entire chute has saved me an incredible amount amount of time and I’m able to work cows alone, safely. It is well built and very durable. When I began setting up an IVF barn on my farm I got in touch with my local Co-op and Arrowquip to locate panels, alleys, and the budflow system. Even with Covid-19 causing supply chain issues they were able to locate all the parts I needed. I plan to continue buying Arrowquip products in the future.

Very sorry I ever heard of Arrowquip. You generally get what you pay for, but Arrowquip has shown otherwise. Bought their calving/maternity pen at MSRP. Made 2 six hour trips to pick it, and panels, up, since I needed it in a hurry. Spent a full day yesterday attempting to assemble it from what turned out to be the wrong manual that they had sent. Unbeknownst to me, I had received the older model pen and the manual I received was for this year’s. I figured that out yesterday and printed the older model directions from the internet. Either way, their directions were worse than the worst Chinese or other 3rd world directions I have seen. Figuring maybe it was just me, I hired two smart guys this morning. After a morning of frustration, they gave up. Several people with fine sounding, mellow voices called, spouting BS of how they wanted to make me happy, but not one iota of real help. Save your money and extreme aggravation and buy from any one of the other manufacturers that make virtually identical calving pens. Certainly wish I had.

I have an Arrowquip Q-Power 104. I can not fault the crush. It is very well built and built to last. Every aspect of cattle handling has been thought of and the crush has been designed around ensuring safe handling not only for me but the cattle as well. It has took a lot of stress off myself when it comes to handling cattle as well as the cattle themselves. They can see daylight through the head yoke and makes them run a lot smoother through. The hydraulics on the crush are responsive and very simple to use. If you are in the market for new cattle handling equipment Arrowquip is by far the best on the market not only for the equipment but for the customer service.

After retiring in 2020, my wife and I moved to the ranch and took over the cattle business near Gonzales, TX. We quickly realized the 80 year old wooden cattle pens and rusted out head gate were pretty much shot and started designing new pens. Our son, a TX A&M DVM with a mixed (large and small) practice south of San Antonio, helped us spec a new Arrowquip squeeze chute with palp cage, head catcher, sternum bar, etc. The chute became the crown jewel of our new pens. We focused on safety, flexibility, durability, reputation, overall usability, and price. So far the Arrowquip equipment has performed flawlessly and our son has been very impressed and completely satisfied. We would highly recommend Arrowquip to a friend!
