Been doing work for these amazing folks for a few years now, they are honest and very friendly to work with. I can imagine working for them is just as good of an experience as hiring them. From my perspective they produce some impressive, well build homes. And they are one of the smaller contracting companies. I highly recommend them if you want quality work and a relaxed atmosphere for your renovations.

After watching a neighbor have Appleford Building do a reno on their home, we decided to hire them for our renovation. The deciding factor was they're rapport with the neighborhood and the people around them. The crew was always having a chuckle and they genuinely enjoyed doing they're work. Always eager to have someone drop buy, Charlie and crew eagerly allowed me to inspect they're work on our neighbors home anytime. Our project was born over 10 years of planning on our part. So when it was time to sit down with Charlie and Melisa we were already on the same page. Melissa was able to take our ideas and make a plan very quickly. So that we were able to fit into they're construction schedule immediately. Charlie's craftsmanship showed through in our desire to repurpose many materials from our old home. Beams and doors that could no longer be sourced were put to good use throughout the home. As well as the old fireplace brick to build a wood stove surround that looked like it was original to a craftsman style home. Our project took an unexpected turn very early. The old foundation was no good. We could have been delayed for months with no work being done or incurred 10's of thousands of dollars in overages. But Melissa came up with a new budget and construction plan that made sense. All we needed was for the city to sign off on it. In her usual fashion Melissa knew how to approach the situation and we had the approval we needed within a week and had a new plan for a foundation upgrade. Acting as our agent Melissa liaised with the city with efficient aplomb. And Charlie kept the hammers swinging. What could have ballooned into a colossal financial and emotional mess was in fact handled with efficiency and care. There were ample opportunities to have things become to emotional or to stressful, but Charlie and Melissa kept a cool head and helped us navigate the unseen stresses that my wife and I encountered during our renovation. The proof was during a winter storm I got up in the middle of the night and drove to the site to check on the water pumps and general condition. I was worried about material blowing around or the water pumps failing. When I pulled up, Charlie was there. He had beat me to it. He said Go home, I got this. Yes he did. Our home is the joy of our lives. We have lived in this neighborhood for almost 20 years. Charlie and Melissa have done more than 3 project for us over a 10 year span. During COVId was our biggest one to date. We love their professionalism, workmanship and best of all they are so easy to work with. Hands down I would choose them again. Each project we completed has been admired but many and I can easily feel confident to recommend them. They definitely have great design ideas and always add that extra element to make each project stand out.
