What makes Anna's approach different is that she actually teaches you by DOING - HOW to practice in order to advance and secure your technique. Many teachers just tell the same thing : "You have to practice more", but they don't actually teach you how to do it correctly or do it so fast that you can't apply it. With Anna each piano key touch or finger movement starts making sense. Anna is very strict and demanding yet friendly and approachable - she is an excellent teacher for either "false beginners" or really advanced students (her real passion). She moves you beyond what you able to to with the other teachers (only if you don't quit after the first lesson, haha).

However, I would like to append that lessons with Anna benefit profoundly, especially to those who yearn for a better self. She broads your perception of music, shapes you from your attitude, and transform you into a person who you will not even recognize. It is a lifelong education. As for Greg, my music history teacher, he is a hilarious man with inclusive knowledge about history (and white beard and a big red nose). It is true that "history should not be boring at all" -- (Gregory Myers, at the beginning of my class). With his depiction of music history, you see the other side. However, even Google is useless to people who don't type. First, Greg is more advanced than google, so it's ok if you don't type. Second, he and Anna are the right people for those who, again, crave for knowledge. "Music is a story about life" -- (Herbie Hancock, and most musicians). Anna and Greg would show you the direction along the way.

Her enthusiasm for music is infectious and her teaching style is tailored to her students' individual needs and goals. After one year's study with her, I feel my kid has improved a lot on fingers skill, and also have a much better understanding about the pieces---background, emotions or feelings. I feel she is a teacher will help the kids build a very strong foundation of all skills, and also she will lead the kids to know how to enjoy the music. I highly recommend her!
