★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had not heard of this place until it was featured on a local news show. Views are spectacular! You can drive up to the small parking area, but for the full experience park at McNeil Bay and walk up the steep yet short trail from Transit Road (look for the Centennial Trail marker beside the driveway to 545 Transit). It's well worth the effort
Not much there except rocks, wildflowers, and a couple of benches, but for a commanding view it can't be beat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It isn't the most accessible spot for tourists in Victoria, but the views here are pretty good. Bring a jacket if you aren't used to ocean breezes!
There are edible berries and a golf course nearby.
It is a great spot for the sunset but I'd say the Ogden pier is better.
There aren't many people here (probably because there are no buses nearby).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited the beach south of the park. Parked the car on the south side of Beach Drive. There were people sunning themselves in Adirondack chairs atop the outcrop that juts out into the bay, overlooking the Trial Islets. They seemed to enjoy themselves. There was plenty of room. We could have brought our chairs and got takeout from one of these cafes on Oak Bay Avenue just 5 minutes away. Next time...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ah, the smell of fresh sea air, the song of seagulls and the taste of life. Take a stroll along the ocean and perhaps have a picnic on one of those colourful chairs on the rocks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a local dog running park with a beautiful view. Be aware that there is no access to the beach despite that some of the posted pictures suggest it. The park is mostly surrounded by private properties and accessible from a trail. There are a few benches to sit and enjoy the view and the sunshine.
