Amerispa

We had a nice relaxing day at this spa. The stuff is amazingly friendly. I was treated with the best customer service from the initial phone reservation to the check out time. My massage therapist, David was very professional. He made sure that I had the best treatment experience. The food we had at bistro was fresh and the service was awesome. It seems like everyone who works at this place takes pride in their job. It's not a big or fancy spa but it is clean and relaxing. Thank you to the team of great people for the gift of truly nice experience! We will definitely go back!

Very run down...Foul smell...would not reccomended. No food and no one really around to care for the place. The massage was great but other than that it was not a great experience unfortunately. The steam sauna was unusable as it was so strong it burned your eyes and nose. I have been to dozens of spas and this by far was the worst experience. I would glady pay the exta money for a better experience at Nordik. It wasn't worth the money even if it is cheaper and not by much. I hate to give such a bad review but need to be honest.

We frequent this place often enough and it’s a great place to unwind. We always have a good massage as well. They could clean up there gardens a bit and pay attention to the upkeepe. Thanks

I went to this spa hoping to get a nice pedicure but left with nail polish all over my skin. The shellac nail polish was falling off within 48 hours of getting it. Would not recommend going here, there are far better places that offer much better pedicures and for lower prices.

Summary: I wanted to give a relaxation gift to my wife, but we left under stress. Details: I bought on December a certificate package consisting in one hour massage plus wine and use of the facilities. Because of the covid19 lock-downs we postponed our visit until the end of the summer. I've called the Receptionist to make a reservation for Saturday, August 28th. As this was our first time in that facility, I wanted to avoid any surprise charges, so I asked her if we needed to bring robes, or anything. They said that all was included in the certificate we had. Also she told us that due to the covid19 situation they wouldn't offer the wine on the premises, instead they would give us a $25 certificate to each of us. I told her that we didn't plan in going again there soon, so that I would prefer to receive in compensation extra massage time instead. She offered to have 20 min extra in compensation for each of us. I double-checked with her if we will have any extra charge to pay that day, and she assured me that not, that all was covered. A day before, I called her again asking if it was possible to have a mixed massage (deep-tissue and relaxation instead of only deep-tissue that we requested before). No problem she said. Next day, during our visit my wife got a good massage therapist and she was happy with the quality of the massage. In my case, the girl who I was assigned recommended me to have only relaxation massage. I agreed. Massage was under grade, not bad, but I've gotten better ones in Gatineau in three different places. Use of facilities was normal. We loved the salt water pools and the Scandinavian Sauna. The Turkish steam sauna smelled like having a fungal problem covered with some scents, but still I could feel the fungal odors. Worst, when checking out the receptionist told me that I should pay $75 for our extra 20 mins of massage, after crediting the $25 for the wine. I resisted to pay but after arguing with her it was clear that she didn't want to honor my previous calls, and I finally paid to end that unhappy arguing. So, we quit the place tense, with a very unpleasant sensation of being abused. I WILL NEVER go again to Amerispa. After all, I can get better massages at Gatineau, and I can live without they salt-water pool which is the only good thing we saw that day. The Municipal pool has a small Scandinavian sauna that has nothing to envy to the one in Amerispa, and it is free if you have the Gatineau Access card.

I enjoyed the therm experience. Not sure if it's because of covid but the place was not crowded which was really nice. I wish the hot pool would be hotter and the cold pool would be colder. This is not considered as part of the review for the spa but I also wish that people there would not occupy the chairs with their towels all the time while they're in the water. There are hangers everywhere. Please use them accordingly and let everyone enjoy the spa!

Great place with affordable price. They have pools with different temperature varying from hot to cold. Excellent place to relax.
