Worked on a retrofit Ac install on a Condo they roughed in Sage Hill area. Who in their mind decides to rough in 12/2 wire for an air conditioning unit. This is the first I’ve ever seen, it’s always the biggest wire generally 8/3 or 10/2. It caused major problems with the retrofit almost having to cut multiple holes in the ceiling. Please in the future rough in 8/3 or 10/2 wire don’t be cheap and ignore the condo boards if they demanded 12/2, Condo Boards don’t know anything.

Extremely DISAPPOINTED in their customer service and warranty! Amelco did all the electrical in our new home. We took possession in May of 2015. We are now moving (March 2020) and the new homeowners thought to do a home inspection for their own peace of mind. Ironically enough we all came to learn that two consecutive electrical outlets in our basement bedroom aren't working (see photo). This is our fourth bedroom in the home and is very seldom used. What's more is we never used these outlets in the whole time we have lived in the home as we didn't put a tv in that room or anything else that required us to test the outlets. Upon calling Amelco, Jason was very good, and quick, at scheduling an electrican to come out to the home. What he wasn't good at was notifying me there would be any charge. So out comes their electrician, Andrew, who was able to confirm we did no damage to the receptacle and rather that there was some wiring issue that cause the two consecutive outlets to be failing. Andrew did his thing, was in and out in no time, and things were working as one would expect. At no point during his visit did he indicate there would be any charge. Then, a few days later, a $168 bill lands in my email. In trying to take it up with Jarret at Amelco, he cited their one year warranty period to leverage their position and stated "it is difficult to consider this being a warranty issue". That's where I call BS. How else would two consecutive outlets in the same room not be working? Did I stick a fork in one of them? Do you see a trail of residual smoke running up the wall because we fried something? NOPE. Listen, for anyone reading this you can decide if I'm out to lunch for being so far outside their warranty period but at the end of the day the only mistake we made was not using the bloody outlets and then getting stung with a bill for $168. Yep, $168 is truly nothing, but when no one notifies you of charges, fixes something that should have been right in the first place, and then unexpectedly tags you with a bill, that's where I take issue.

High quality work and exceptional customer service. Amelco did all of the electrical work and low voltage rough ins on my new build. The panel install was clean and organized. They were also willing to do all of my special requests regarding speaker install and Ethernet runs. I was especially impressed by their customer service - when Shaw was installing my internet they were struggling, so I called Amelco (in the evening) and they guided the Shaw tech so they could successfully hook up my internet. Special thanks to Joe for all your help!

This was a terrible experience, the person they sent was rude and looked like he was homeless, he had body odor and his beard had debris in it. He looked like someone that came from a shelter. They pool for electricians must be shallow (if he really was an electrician) I do NOT recommend using this company, many other options with staff that are competent and clean and free of smell! I would give ZERO stars if possible.

Nothing exceptional here. In the past 25 years I have had 4 custom homes built and one thing I have learned is that most Contractors are only as good as the trades people they keep in their rolodex. In this case they have a few I would consider exceptional, most which are average and definitely some that I find hard to believe they are still working in the trade. The 2 star rating is really about the performance of Amelco and the management of the project itself, like I said nothing special. In general I believe they are capable of delivering a reasonable product but it's only as good as the particular trades person they employee on any given day but more so how they manage those trades. Fortunately for me, my formal training in Architectural design gives me a pretty good understanding of the building process and building standards so I was able to insure the final product was at the quality a custom home should be, the disappoint is that this should have been the goal of Amelco, clearly is wasn't. If you want an average product they are okay not exceptional.
