Hi sweet friends! How are we? Aside from our world’s current state, which is nothing short of heartbreaking. SO much love to our European pals! I’m also still trying to wrap my head around the fact that spring is just around the corner… thank all the GODS! WE DID IT, pals! We got through the hardest months of the year. Most of us are having a hard time getting through our days with very little sun, and one thing’s for sure, our mental well-being has taken its toll too, so we’re laying this shit on, and THICK! My gosh, my heart sure hurts a lot for our world these days. It feels like all it takes is to turn on the damn news. Mental health’s been at the forefront of this pandemic and it’s no wonder why. And now there’s a damn war happening in Europe. Like most, I have a heck of a hard time getting through winter except I’ve got some fun tricks up my sleeve, thanks to a diagnosis of being shall we say, seasonally challenged. We are so close to getting through this, but on those days, you know the days I mean, it feels like torture. Idk about you, but I just need a really long walk in some sunshine with my boy…

Yesterday was an errand day for me (ya I know, OCD much Amanda?! Haha) and while I was out bebopping around I stopped by my Grandparents for a quick visit. Most of us understand completely that during the winter months we need extra rest, but not my Grandma apparently. Grams started talking mean to herself, upset because she was frustrated with how much she’s been sleeping. Jeepers, I hate it when she talks like that to my best friend! So of course, I had to remind her to give herself some damn grace already. It’s OK that we are all sleeping extra right now! There are seasons for reasons pals, it’s in our nature. It’s OK that you are cozied up inside, the bears are doing that right now too! See what I mean here? We are human after all but my gosh are we ever hard on ourselves hey?!

So what were to happen if instead of going through the rigmarole of beating ourselves up for feeling tired, for feeling like it takes every single thing you have to go face the world right now if we were to surrender just a bit, take things as they are, and give ourselves the grace we need to get through it all? It’s going to be OK pals, we’re going to be ok. We are going to get through this and you know what my sweet friends, we are going to come out on the other of this side up. We are capable of so much more than we’d like to admit but even the biggest and bravest need some damn grace, and a weekend at home once in a while too.
