Alquinn Homes - Spruce Grove

We purchased one of Alquinn’s Show homes this past summer. We were in the market for a new home, but we did not want to have the inevitable headaches of building one. The area where we chose boasts beautiful properties and our home stands shoulder to shoulder with all of them. The main deciding factor in our purchase decision was the Alquinn family, literally. Shannon was very knowledgeable and guided us through the purchase, financing and all the other intricacies of purchasing a home seamlessly. John was always available to answer questions and promptly address any concerns. Pam was very helpful in coordinating trades for work which was required prior to our move in date. Ted our site supervisor has been diligently working on completing the last remaining tasks to make this our perfect forever home. We would recommend Alquinn to anyone looking to build a home. They are a close knit family, who care about honesty, integrity and quality.

My husband and I bought a spec home with Alquinn over two years ago and I have nothing but positive things to say. The quality of work and interior design of the home is exceptional. We always get compliments on how well the home is built and any small issues we had was addressed in a timely matter. I would highly recommend Alquinn to anyone in search of a beautiful new home.

When I was first looking for a new home I narrowed down my search to three different builders and they all were about the same price for what I was looking for. My deciding factor was Alquinn was adding solar panels and a tankless water heater to my package over and above the other builders I was looking at and the persistence of them wanting my business sealed the deal. So when I started looking at pros and cons of each, that was what I made my final decision on. Janice and Shannon always returned my phone calls and or emails in a timely matter throughout the process. If I asked a question they didn't know they told me they didn't know and found the answer to my question and got back to me. I can say that sometimes I didn't like the answer but they took the time to find out which was important to me. Everyone at Alquinn was willing to work with my schedule which was much appreciated. I don't like surprises and when someone says they are going to do something I expect it to be done and throughout the process Alquinn followed through with everything as stated. We did butt heads at times but got through it and I can appreciate the direct approach and professionalism. So thank you for working with me in that regards. Once they understood my personality and attention to detail things got better. When it was time to go to the design centre I worked with Janelle. There was certain things I wanted and with Janelle's experience and guidance I was able to accomplish everything. I relied on her for trends and expertise and steer me into ideas that may work. She listened to the things I wanted to do to my new home. There was some things that were very important to me and others that weren't and Janelle was able to recognize that and guide me in the right direction, which I appreciated. When the building started I was able to work with Quinn who was in charge of the build. I enjoyed working with him and he followed through with everything as directed. Getting a hold of him was never an issue and he always got back to me in a timely matter. The questions I had he was able to answer and we made some small adjustments along the way with no hesitation. Quinn was very easy to deal with and did a great job. Thank you. Overall building a new home with Alquinn was an enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend Alquinn as your builder. They followed through with everything that was asked, they worked with me with all my wants and needs along with my schedule, and the quality and workmanship was top notch. Thank you Janice, Shannon, Janelle, and Quinn for putting up with me and making my new home come to life.

Our experience with Alquinn Homes was wonderful. Shannon went above and beyond to help us out with everything we needed. A true professional, she cares about your ideas and puts in the effort to make you happy. As a custom builder there isn't anything they cant work with you on!

We could not be more happy with our purchase from Alquinn Homes. From the first step of viewing their homes to signing a deal and moving in! Alquinn Homes made us feel like family. We have been in our new home for over a month now and are loving it. It’s so beautiful and well built. The attention to detail is amazing. What I love about Alquinn is no question is too small, whenever I contact them I am always met with a response right away. They are there for you. They give you small town customer service and offer you better than the big city talent. I would recommend them to anyone!!

Our review of Alquinn Homes comes after one year of ownership. We took possession of our new Alquinn home November 25, 2019. Our walk through took place and we walked through each level of our new house level by level, small window frame joint cracks were noted, along with other minor problems. We were asked to trial all windows for opening and closing, we noted that the windows were extremely dirty and were told by the Alquinn representative that window cleaning wasn't part of the "package" and cleaning was on the owner. Our walk through included explanation of the homes mechanical systems. A walk around the exterior of the home was done, noting a few other issues as we went. We wrapped up in the house again and signed off on their electronic inspection form and their representative left. We were not provided any paper or electronic copies of that inspection. At the time of our initial inspection we were promised a six month and 12 month walk through as further follow up on any problems that would arise in the first year. No walk through was performed at six months, now at twelve months we've had no walk through with Alquinn. In the spring, when the weather was warming, it was time to clean our windows. This is when we noticed a hole in the upper floor master bedroom window frame. The hole was only noticeable when we had removed the sliding window to reach out to the stationary window for cleaning. When we noticed the hole we were at approximately 4 months into ownership. Alquinn was contacted and we were told it would be looked at on our upcoming visit from Master Craftsman Warranty. After many months neither company has done anything to repair the window and Alquinn last week has told us in an email that the problem wasn't noted on our initial home inspection and they would not do anything for us. The problem is ours to repair, still inside a one year window of ownership. While we didn't cause the damage, it would have been there on possession date, because we didn't notice the damage and list it on the inspection Alquinn is able to walk away from responsibility. Through this year we haven't had much need to contact Alquinn, though when we have, the communication has been mainly not returned and by now they have quit talking to us. If you are looking to purchase an Alquinn home, we would recommend that you get everything discussed in writing, as well request copies of your possession day inspection certificate. If at all possible, lean out those windows and examine every square foot of the exterior siding and window frames of your home. If you find something after the inspection, that hasn't been noted on your inspection, it will be on you according to Alquinn. Reporting the window frame hole to the Master Craftsman and Progressive Warranty companies saw their decisions go with the home builder. Clearly they aren't there for the homeowner.

This review comes 3 years after our move in date, house settling, warranty repairs and a true test of quality. No house is constructed without flaws, however I can honestly say that after 3 years in this custom built home, the issues we encountered throughout the years were so minor ie nail pops, trim separation. These are natural occurrences as the house settles. Truly impressed those were the only issues after 3 years and nothing major. Our warranty repairs were completed in a timely and responsive manner. They care about their clients and I would definitely recommend Alquinn Homes.
