★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Alpine Meadows Lodge sits in a very quiet and peaceful setting on the west side of the junction of the Columbia and Kicking Horse rivers. You reach it on a well kept gravel road 2 miles long. From the balcony you can look out across the valley to Mount 7 and enjoy the calm beauty of the valley.
The building itself was constructed by Irv and Marie the two hosts. It is a beautiful three story lodge with a central high roofed atrium. The rooms are very clean and tidy. Every morning the hosts prepare a filling breakfast with coffee to start the day and you meet travelers from around the world. All in all I cannot recommend a place in Golden any more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to stay in Golden. The 4km gravel road is doable on street bikes, and the view from the balcony is fantastic! The breakfast in the morning has so many options, it truly was a highlight of our stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed in separate Eagle Chalet over Aug long weekend w/ 9 ppl. There was very little info on accommodations when we booked, but property has recently switched hands to new owners and I see they have a new website now. Place plain, but spotless and we were pleasantly surprised by size and roominess of place. 2 extra large bedrooms upstairs (queen + futon in each) with a shared full bath. Down stairs is another 2 bedrooms (1 with double, another with 2 singles) + another full bath.
Took 1 star out for lack of cooking pans & oven trays to feed large groups, but there is a BBQ + propane and wood burning fireplace. Otherwise, plenty of plates & utensils.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This lodge was absolutely amazing. The common space was so calming and clean. I lounged and read a book in the upstairs living room for a bit and super enjoyed that. The hosts were superb and very welcoming. Our room was great, WiFi was excellent and we had everything we needed!
Would definitely stay again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a homely and welcoming retreat for my husband and I where we woke up every morning to such beautiful mountain view. It was simply breathtaking! I managed to trek around the lodge, which was quiet and peaceful. We've gotten clean and spacious room with bathroom. Will be back to visit next time. Thank you for the wonderful time! Missing Alpine!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to stay. So different from hotels. You have a lovely large common area with a big fireplace to sit and read, another room with large TV and games room. Lots of outdoor sitting areas with beautiful nature and scenery so peaceful. You have individual rooms with bed dresser and bathroom. You drive on a gravel road on Elk Ave so be prepared for that but it is worth it. Staff very accommodating very pleasant. It is not within walking distance to amenities but a very short drive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are looking for a serene experience with a 360 degree mountain view deep in the woods, away from the city's crowd and noise but on a budget, look no further - this is a place for you. Its has a cosy and inviting vibe to it. With traditional wood burning fireplace right in the heart of the property, good place to relax and meditate, a great game room with good book collection, decent breakfast with a warm and welcoming host, its a must visit!
