On the initial visit we were told that our dog would require a 10 day stay with the owner and trainer with which we complied for a good deal of money. Our dog had fear issues around new people. He was very stubborn and strong willed. He said he could train him so that we could keep him as a service dog for my husband who has TBI. When he returned the dog he was more aggressive and was on a pinch collar. When he tried to explain his training methods to us we couldn't understand it and it was not consistent with clear instruction. We ended up having to find a new home for him as he caused stress for my husband who needed the dog to reduce stress.
N	Natalie Mackenzie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Peter from Alpha Paws is AMAZING and we highly recommend him!!!! We can't thank him enough for all he has done for us with our 2 year old boxer Sonia. She's a rescue and is actually our second dog he has trained for us and with Sonia walking used to be a total nightmare. Whenever she saw another dog she'd growl and lunge so we ended up avoiding taking her out at busy times and when we did walk her we were always on edge and nervous. She'd also bark at the front window when people walked by the house and was extremely suspicious of people coming to the house. Well, it's been a few months now since she stayed with Peter for training and then he came to our house for 5 more lessons after (once per week) and we are amazed with the results!!! Sonia is so much more relaxed, happy and content and rarely even looks outside now. Walks are a breeze and using Peter's techniques we have no issues when passing other dogs. I adopted Charlie who was a rescue back in April, and had very little information about his background. Charlie soon showed leash reactivity, our walks became dreadful, and he was showing territorial aggression towards other members of the family. When I contacted Peter there was no hesitation, he came and met with me and Charlie. He was a lifesaver, he wasn't training Charlie per say, but he was training me. Giving me tools and skills to be a better fur mom to my Charlie. He gave me confidence, answered all of my 101 questions and put me at ease. Charlie loved him as well and was completely submissive to him. Peter was so gentle towards Charlie throughout it all. The most notable was when a tragedy happened in my family and saw how Charlie was responding to the grief in our family, I called Peter right away and explained to him the situation. Peter was so incredibly compassionate towards me and what was happening and gave me even more tools to use with Charlie during this time. I can't thank Peter enough, Charlie is like a completely different dog. He has more confidence, our walks are beautiful and our bond is so much stronger. He has faith and confidence in me to be his leader. Even passerbyers are now complimenting me on how well behaved Charlie is! Thank you Peter so much, you have no idea how grateful I am!
A	Agnes Leung on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Peter is the dog whisperer to hire! The problem I had with my dog was really bad leash pulling and recall. My dog Momo probably thought she was a sled dog and would pull to the point where you could hear her choking herself. We had tried some other classes and trainers previously but their answers were lots of treats, which my pup didn't care for. Then we went to Peter late summer for help with a focus on loose leash walking and recall. We did the 5 lesson package to work on technique and timing. Peter let us record the sessions so we could watch it again at home and never forget any advice he gave. I was also able to text him questions at any point for answers and clarification. I simply practiced on my own in fall and winter. Once it was spring, we got Peter to come back for 1 lesson to work on off leash heel, recall and perimeter training. Now I have a dog that I can walk loose leash, walk off leash in heel position, recall reliably when off leash regardless of what wildlife she sees and will not pass the perimeter boundaries we've picked. All of this done with no treats/bribes! No more treat crumb filled pockets. TL;DR Peter is the guy to call for dog training and will teach you how to do it without all the treats/bribes.
