As with another recent reviewer I have been attempting to contact this organization for six weeks. I sent an application for membership by mail to which no response or acknowledgement of receipt has been received. Attempts to reach anyone by phone are fruitless. The office is closed. An email inquiring as to whether or not my correspondence has been received has gone unanswered. I recognize that Covid restrictions have made it more difficult for many organizations and businesses to operate but this total lack of communication, or seeming organization, are something that I have not encountered from any other of the numerous companies and organizations I have dealt with who are operating under the same circumstances. It certainly brings into question why anyone would want to be associated with this organization or why the ATA and ASEBP would continue to recommend it. Unacceptable.

Started the process of contacting ARTA 5 weeks ago. Left a message to be returned in 5 days. Waited another two weeks. During that time I have been in there 15 minute que 3 or 4 times a day. Sent an email to ARTA two weeks ago nothing back. Left a second message. It's now been over 5 weeks with no response to messages. Brutal. 0/5 stars.

Teachers approaching retirement beware! Even with the best plan offered through ARTA you will come to discover that you are receiving less coverage and poorer service through ARTA than you experienced with ASEBP. For example, the stated coverage for eye care is misleading because there is a 20% copay. Your travel medical coverage will also be less that you had with ASEBP even though your premium costs will be higher. Good luck trying to reach anyone by phone if you have a question. ARTA is always β€œexperiencing a higher call volume than usual”.

I have tried calling on several occasions with no results. I have emailed twice and left a message over the last five weeks. No one will respond??Always had quick response prior to changeover. My husbands cpap machine was denied because a new prescription is needed? His prior prescription is on file. He does not get routine follow up from diagnosing Specialist. This is a lifelong condition. Requested ARTAS policy because I cannot find it on the website just it is partially covered. Why does no one respond?

ARTA has really picked up on the operations of their company in terms of answering calls or emails. Compassionate and patient agents are truly making their priority to address member concerns regarding policies and claims. They are able to simplify how coverages work which is very helpful when it is confusing. The process of transition this year for ARTA was very taxing and difficult for members to understand unless you are in the thick of it. I was very disappointed as I had just joined. However, recently their significant improvement in their operations has regained my trust.

I am 100% happy with my ARTA benefits coverage. It gives me real peace of mind to know that I am part of a plan built by retired teachers for retirees. Whenever I have had a problem, the Member Services team has done everything they could to resolve the issue quickly and effectively. Since January 1 when the ARTA plan switched to self-administration, it was more difficult for several weeks to get to talk to a real person quickly, but that has since been resolved, and things are back to the regular great service. I applaud the hard-working team for their stellar efforts on our behalf through a challenging time. You are an amazing group!

I have waited to join the ARTARx plan, and am tremendously pleased with the service we are receiving! It will be so reassuring to have this plan at our backs as we resume our travels. The other benefits of joining ARTA, include being part of a community that advocates for seniors. We need that!

Since ARTA switched from Bluecross. my husband and I have had our prescriptions declined by Greenshield. We are in shock! We tried to contact ARTA. They said we have to get doctors to fill out forms (for a cost) and send the forms into Greenshield for authorization. Even after this process we could be declined again. We can’t in good conscience recommend ARTA to our soon to be retiring friends and colleagues. We are extremely disappointed in the service.
