Easy parking and the start to a nice hike. This hike goes up and over the ridge, so be prepared for some steady upward trail walking. There is a very new trail cut in about halfway up the first ridge that loops back around onto an old logging road that takes you back towards the parking lot. This gives you a very nice short loop option to this trail, making it more suitable for a quick walk.

Nice vistas and photo spots. Weird hiking through a 'working forest' though. Lots of evidence of logging...

Easy to access parking lot for the Alberni Inlet Trail. The parking lot is large and the kiosks are easy to read and very informative. Some new interpretive signage has recently been installed. The first half of Stage 1 of the trail does pass through a working forest and unfortunately a lot was just logged and isn’t the most pleasant to hike through. That being said this small in inconvenience is made up for with a beautiful trail as you hike down from the lookout out to the water and the inlet portion of the stage1 section.

This is actually the Ship Creek trailhead. After walking up a steep hill from Anderson St. you are rewarded with a 180 degree view. And an extensive pathway after that.

Moderate hike that’s dog friendly. First panorama viewpoint was about 1hr to-and-from (free) parking lot. In most parts the paths are well-maintained, but there is medium incline
