★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walking among nature is fun for the entire family, children of all ages enjoy feeding the wildlife at bird sanctuary. Bring your own seeds or buy it from the gift shop. The fee to enter takes care of the protected area, no pets allowed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place to go for some pictures or take your family for a learning experience. Plenty of ducks and geese that come right up to you and chance to see some rare birds. Worth multiple visits to catch a glimpse of the birds that come year round. You can take a lunch inside and it's fairly inexpensive and great for a day out. Don't forget to buy or bring some bird seed. Its $1 for a small bag at the sanctuary.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First thing to know: Alaksen National Wildlife Area is only open Monday to Friday. It is a lovely quiet place with well maintained trails to walk through a park-like setting next to farmland and river on Westham Island in Ladner.
