β β β β β (BEWARE)!My partner and i ordered two tofu teriyaki boxes from here that come with California rolls. The California roll was bad the fish was off and tasted so bad it was not funny hoping that i donβt get sick from it because I actually ate one piece of it . The manager actually told my partner upon returning the roll that they were using a different fish however when she gave a replacement it was apparently the regular fish. The manager wouldnβt admit that the fish was bad ! This is the second time the food has been bad from this restaurant as the first time the salad was actually brown . Beware if you order take out from here !

β β β β β I love visit Akira Sushi for fast and friendly service. I only have 30 minutes for my break and they always seem to manage to complete my order in less than 10 minutes flat whether it's sushi or a hot meal like a bento box.

β β β β β Came in on a long weekend Monday for lunch - super quick and efficient service. Food took no more than 5 mins to all come out and it actually tasted fresh & great! Server was attentive without being overbearing and kept our teas topped up.
Restaurant itself was clean and well lit, unlike some of the other nearby sushi joints on the Denman strip.

β β β β β Decent sushi at a decent price. I got the Cherashi Don which is a good way to taste all of their seafood at a reasonable rate (about $12). The rice could use a bit more flavour but the fish itself was fresh. Well presented making it appealing to the eyes using a lot of colour. Iβd say they should add sesame to the rice to give it a bit more of a kick. Overall a good experience. Great for lunch or a quick bite on the way.

β β β β β Good service, quick and efficient, all our food arrived fairly quickly. No frills, a proper Japanese meal in downtown Vancouver at a very fair price. Very busy restaurant but the servers all manage to be polite, efficient and helpful. Their kimchi Hotpot is great (yes it's a Japanese restaurant and that is a Korean dish I know). Looking forward to trying their other dishes. Paid street parking right outside the restaurant.

β β β β β We popped in late on a Sunday and the food and service were still wonderful. We had volcano roll etc and it couldnβt have been more tasty. Thanks for all the tea too!

β β β β β It was my terrible dinner. Roll was too thick and not fresh. Especially, Ikura was the worst of the worst. I wasted my time and money. I will never go there again.

β β β β β A nice little sushi joint within a few minutes walk from the beach. The service was efficient and speedy, delivering real tasty grub from super friendly staff.
The sushi tested fresh and was served quickly, whilst plentiful. Although it wasn't the yummiest sushi I ever had, it's certainly on par with others in the area and offers a great menu variety of hot and cold dishes with reasonable prices so I wouldn't hesitate to return when in the area.
My only complaint is that there was a lot of single use plastic which I hate from an environmental perspective, and also ruins the authenticity of your meal and dining experience. However, a cozy little laid back joint to sit and enjoy sushi with your friends. The edamame also tasted pretty basic store bought, but I was impressed at the tastings of agedashi tofu and the sushi Maki rolls. Miso Soup was also pretty rad and not too salty.
