I was very nervous to enroll as a mature student, returning to school after ten years! The red deer campus staff have been so supportive, well structured, informative and are really there for their students. I really am enjoying classes and the instructors! I would highly recommend this campus for anyone who has a desire to better themselves and get the education they really want for the career they want! I am excited for this journey and can't wait to see where I end up!

This school helps me succeed in my endeavours. Facilitators and staffs are very accomodating and friendly. Very responsive to questions and concerns. The admission staff make it easier for me to understand the steps and was very quick to act and reply to my emails any time of the day. I can feel that they really care about me and my progress in my studies, the facilitators consistently check on me to know if I am doing well or if I am having a hard time. There is no inconvenience at all, they are very considerate. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to achieve their goals and to be trained in their chosen careers.

I started my journey with AOLCC in 2018 when I completed my Computerized Business Applications Diploma! Shortly after graduation I received an interview for a learning coach position which resulted in employment with AOLCC. Three years later I am now an Advisor and get to help others achieve their career goals! I truly felt supported through my education and now my employment with AOLCC. If anyone has the motivation and desire, anything is possible. Determination is key and the staff are here to support you along the way. I am very proud to work for such an inspiring college!

The friendly, professional and helpful staff contributed to the successful completion of my diploma program. I enjoyed all my time as a student and now, years later I have come to work here so that I can help others achieve all their goals and dreams. With a wide variety of program options, there is something for everyone.

I completed my Business Administration Diploma at the Academy of Learning. I originally was going to go to Red Deer College for their Business Administration Diploma but I would have had to wait until September 2018 before I could even start there. I went to the Academy of Learning in March of 2018 and I finished my Diploma that October!! I was already working in an office before I would have even STARTED the program at Red Deer College. I found the ladies at Academy of Learning all super helpful and friendly. They even helped me apply for my student loan and got me set up to start repaying my student loan.

I enrolled into the PC Support Specialist program with very limited computer skills, they grew and i became decent on computers and everything was great when learning access, excel, word, powerpoint and many others, always had easy access to help desk with quick responses and all staff were pretty great. Once it came to the compTIA section for A+ core 1 &2 Network+ and Server+ there is a great teacher thats been in the business for years and has great experience to share, sadly he is the only person that knows about the compTIA programs here at AOLCC in all of Canada and is usually busy with teaching 30 plus students on individual zoom meetingsΒ for PC Support and IT Network Support Specialist throughout the week regularly (Not a class to attend, go at your own pace) and it has helped a great amount, but when your in a lab having issues or stuck on an area because he's busy, its very difficult to get help, he does what he can, but cant get back right away or sometimes for a long period of time due to being so busy with other students! Help desk can only offer that you should get ahold of your teacher for the course as they dont have the knoweledge or traing to properly help you! maybe its just me or possibly im just not learning properly,Β  and really cant find help easily. Ive found using google to get help is by far more efficent when you find the right search. If your not a wiz on computers i would seriously suggest avoiding this course, find out if the compTIA course only has the one very busy instructor or if AOLCC has added other employees to help out with the students struggling! One thing that was also a suprise is that your compTIA A+,N+, and S+ certifications are NOT offered through this School any longer, it will be an Additional charge paid out of your own pocket at an additional $250 or more each to get it. you will get a diploma when you complete the course but it wont mean much without the certifications you dont get within this course And I found out at almost the end of the course that the compTIA isn't widely recognized in Alberta and you need completely different courses to even qualify to get a job here! These courses are recognizedin Ontario and the USA but not really many other places, but one thing is certian that if i had known what i know now, i would have definatly not taken this course! I dont take to quitting lightly and always accept a challenge, but this may have been beyond my limit, finances and time for this course to be worth the risk i put into it. 1 year and $21,000 later... and yes I asked if I needed to do anything else to get certified and if it was recognized and they said the course has all I need and it's recognized... didn't ask if it was recognized in Alberta and tje y.left that part out that it really isn't. hopefully this review will help others hoping to get into IT some more info to research a few places before siding on the one decision you may or, may not regret! i was told this is the best school for a start in IT, but ill never know now as im commited and stuck in this one Maybe i choose a carrer in IT that was far outside my wheelhouse to get out of the oilfield.

I have worked for over 22 years as a Lpn. I have worked in a multitude of areas of nursing from Surgical Units at RDRGH for over 12 years, taught in the Lpn course for 2.5 years, worked in a pain therapy clinic for over 2 years, and worked in assisted living/memory care units for over 2 years, and homecare for over 3 years. I have been working for almost 2 years with AOLCC and I love working here. We have a new owner in the last year who has ensured we have the necessary equipment and supplies needed in our labs. I have the students be as interactive as much as possible in real life scenarios as well as activities of daily living, so they understand what it feels like to be the client as well as they have an understanding of what type of care they will be providing the clients. We use the Alberta Health Health Care Aide Program which you will receive a Certificate after 32 weeks of theory and practicum. The program from Alberta Health is Client Centred Care Focus. We focus on the holistic person, Mentally, Physically, Socially, Psychologically, Physiologically. We always take into consideration the person Dignity, Independence, Preference, Privacy, and Safety. The students who graduate from our program have all been hired in the health care field as HCA's. I love what I do and I love the people I meet. Patricia and Santana you will find as soon as you walk into our facility. They are the people who greet you and they are great learning coaches and know so much about the programs offered here and can trouble shoot anything you need to know in regards to computers and programs. We have Rebecca who is our admission person who knows all about the ins and outs of student funding and Cressida who is our student support, who is kind, understanding and has contacts for areas in your life you are needing assistance with. The people I work with are the best, everyone helps everyone and who work together as a "true team". Check us out, there are ways to earn money through referrals as well as other sign up options.
