ABS Movers & Storage

I contacted this company on short notice (12 hours prior) and spoke to Paul. Everything went as he said it would. Basil and his colleague were 15 minutes ahead of schedule. They took the time to go over what I needed done before starting the job. It was completed without any issues, on time and no damages. Both guys were efficient and pleasant. Should I need movers in the future, I will definitely use this company again. Thanks for doing such a good job! :)

They were so pleasant, happy . I hired 3 movers & they could see I was emotional & stressed & they all kept talking to me to make me feel better. They were singing or humming all happy men. They truly Truly helped my anxiety lessen. Moving is a stressful time & they were so professional & happy . Worked very quickly. So, it really depends on who you happen to get as your movers. The first time I used ABS, it was great. The guys were efficient, careful, friendly and nothing damaged. Took the exact time they said it would. The second time was pretty terrible: almost everything I had was chipped, scratched, or dented (my dresser, desk, drawers, chest, picture frames, etc). One of the guys barely did anything, so it also took over 2 hours longer / cost 200-300 more than it should. I did end up getting some money back from them for damages, but it wasn't exactly easy or enough -- and also I'd have rather gone with a different company who didn't ruin my stuff to begin with. It's a gamble with this company; I won't be working with them again. Good luck.

The two guys who showed up were on time, helpful and did a great job. They helped the move be successful. I could not of done it without them. I had underestimated the time I would need. They being professionals did not. Moving is a stressful time and they were professional and happy. Worked very quickly. I highly recommend ABS Movers. If I ever have to move again I will definitely use them.

We highly recommend ABS movers. They did an incredible job moving our furniture out of a very tight inner city home. They put a lot of care in their work and Moe and Reuben were an incredible team to work with. They were very careful moving our antique furniture; all pieces carefully wrapped and unwrapped. Paul, the owner gave us a very fair competitive quote and the value was amazing, compared to other quotes we received. We will always use Paul and his team at ABS. It's obvious that the ABS team love what they do, in how they interact with their clients. No additional charges were added on....it was a pleasure to tip our movers for the care you put into the move. Highly recommended!!!!

Just horrible service. One guy stood around like a deer in headlights. Very rough with dollies and careless handling of boxes and furniture. Didn’t seem like he wanted to work. The other guy was older and unfit for heavy labour. They both complained about how awful their boss was and how he should have sent 3 people. Similar to the posts below, George requests a tip before he even lifts a finger and requests that you actively participate in the move (kind of the reason I hired a mover!). Throughout the day he also asks if you could go to the store and get him and his partner drinks. One of the most presumptuous individuals I've come across. Furniture damaged and stained. Hunks out of my new staircase. The older guy actually had a nosebleed from the hard labour and bled all over a white cloth sofa. I did a good portion of the moving myself. You get what you pay for. I cheaped out and service was reflective.

I had ABS do a move from a condo in Oakville to my home in Toronto. George and Paul did an excellent job. Arrived on time, friendly, efficient. I especially was impressed by how George and Paul managed to neatly fit all the furniture and boxes I was beginning to Toronto, to share out later with family and friends. I also liked their pricing scheme based on hours for the move. I think this results in a fairer more transparent price in the end. Highly recommend.

My own experience using ABS Movers was very positive. Reading the negative reviews here, either they live on another planet or I was just plain lucky with choosing ABS and getting the fellows who did my move. Right from the start, it was a consistently excellent arrangement, starting with my first conversation with Paul, the key contact person. I did the rounds googling and then phoning about a dozen prospective movers. Paul was the only one who asked me to phone him back before making my decision, which I then did. He asked me what hourly rate I was given – I was considering the lowest cost for combination of movers and storage – and Paul offered a combination of hourly rate and storage cost that was not the lowest, but close enough, and I appreciated his business style and his thoroughness. He called me back three days before the scheduled moving date to review and confirm the details, which was much appreciated. His movers arrived 15 minutes early, which was a welcome surprise. And, importantly, the guys were great. Good humoured, careful and diligent, and very hard working. There was a large Ikea clothes closet with a loose back panel that they were concerned could break apart when moved. They went to extraordinary efforts to wrap it tightly in moving blankets and wrapped a lot of tape around it to assure it got safely into their truck and then out into the storage locker. They took that kind of care with everything. After Paul had initially asked me questions about the belongings and then given the estimated hours to move, and then the total cost including the monthly rate for the storage locker, the number of hours was exactly his estimate and therefore the invoice was precisely the amount he had told me was likely in our phone conversation. So either the stars were aligned on the day of our move, reading some of the extremely negative reviews here, or my experience was more typical, like most of these reviews, which would add up to a confident recommendation for ABS Movers.
