Abby Creek Kennel

It would seem like we had the opposite experience of every single person that has left a review here. We booked this place when our regular kennel couldn't take us for the long weekend. On my initial phone call with Marsha, none of our personal details were taken such as my name, my phone number, or my dog's name. Only what time we would be dropping her off. However, no one was there when we went at the agreed upon time. We phoned the number that was taped to the door, and got Mike's voicemail. Forty minutes later, Mike came but the whole drop off was very unorganized. When he opened the inside door to the kennel, a small dog came running to him, he seemed surprised that he/she was not locked up. He took our dog in, asked us when we would be picking her up and was prepared to end the conversation there until I told him that they had none of our personal information. He found a pen and a business card to write on and took down my husband's name and phone number. Having never stayed there before, it would have been nice to be shown around however I realize that drop off time isn't the most convenient time for a tour. When we picked her up Mike explained that she had an abrasion on her nose from rubbing her snout on a gate inside the kennel.. When we got her home, she drank 2 1/2 bowls of water, so I'm not sure how much water was provided over the long weekend. I had such high hopes based on everyone else's reviews, but I can't say I would recommend Abby Creek Kennel.

Mike & Marsha are the best! Our dog loves going to "doggie camp" and thoroughly enjoys his overnight stays there. Super clean facility and never a worry about our boy. Highly recommend Abby Creek Kennel!

Abby Creek was amazing - my pup had a great week and I really appreciated the updates on how she was and a bath to head home! Great spot; clean and great outdoor space for the dogs!!

Abby Creek Kennel is spotlessly clean, spacious and well run. Mike and Marsha train dogs; they understand dogs. This is a labour of love. We have used Abby Creek for the past three years and we have been very pleased with the care each time. It speaks volumes that our fur-baby goes crazy with joy when she sees either Mike or Marsha. I should also mention that our pup’s feeding routine requires extra effort and that was no problem.

Honestly, super disappointed with this kennel. I initially emailed them to find out if they had availability for my dogs. Email responses were very vague and unprofessional. I said that in my response, which they then asked for a number to phone me at. On the phone call I was reassured that all pets staying would need to show proof of vaccination, need to leave contact info, and emergency contact info. With that reassurance I felt a little better about leaving my dogs there. At the time of drop off it took a while for the owners to even come to the door. He briefly showed me where the dogs were staying. I was told over the phone they would be in separate kennels. Ended up being put together - which was totally fine, but not intended for. He barely asked me about how they needed to be fed, just briefly over the phone. I left 5 big chew bones for them just incase they were anxious, brought their beds, and their collars and leashes. I left my dogs there without showing any vaccination records or even being asked to see them, did not leave any contact info or emergency contact info, was just told a pick up time and rushed out of the kennel. On pick up, which was also very informal, I had to wait a while for him to come out/he wouldn’t of know unless I called the number on the door. Dogs were brought out, which he didn’t even know which one was which (kept mixing up my male/female. One is 7 and one is 7 months and completely different breeds- hard to mix up). One collar was somehow taken off the dog and chewed up, he didn’t give me any of my extra food that I left for the dogs, nor the treats, and their beds were full of pee - which simply has me wondering how often they were let out. I don’t board my dogs often, so to have this type of experience was really disappointing. I thought the price was fair, but to loose out on food, treats, any communication what so ever, and to be left feeling this way doesn’t compensate

I can’t thank Mike & Marsha of Abbycreek Kennels enough for the consistent Love & Care they have given to our Samoyed Bentley for the past 9 years. Being a high energy working dog, Bentley loves the ample exercise Abbycreek Kennels provides to run outside leash free around their spacious property. They adhere to Bentley’s overall routine of his meals etc. which I really appreciate. When Bentley comes home he has been well exercised & is a very happy dog! Mike & Marsha are also highly experienced dog trainers, who understand a dog’s behaviour so well. We appreciate the training tips over the years, especially when he was a puppy! We highly recommend Abbycreek Kennels. Thank you Mike & Marsha, Bentley can’t wait for his next sleepover! ??.

We have boarded our dogs at Abby Creek Kennel more than six times this past year, sometimes for a few days but often for a week or more We have two standard poodles. One of our dogs requires medications for epilepsy 3 times/ day. Mike always makes sure that she gets her medication on time . Our dogs get excited when they see their beds getting packed up and are happy to go off to “ puppy daycare” ! When we pick them up they are clean and healthy. We would recommend Abby Creek Kennel highly to anyone . Karen and Paul

Mike and Marsha are not only absolutely pros - they understand dogs and have decades of experience - they are lovely people too. I have absolute confidence and trust in them and have no issues leaving my boy with them. Finn loves staying at Abbey Creek - he adores them both - and he falls asleep on the way home in the car. I know he has been loved and well cared for - and exercised too. I highly recommend Abbey Creek Kennel for your beloved pet.
