A&W Canada - Calgary

I have eaten at the Chinook Mall A&W for the last time, for a couple reasons. I've eaten at this location many times for years. One cashier, who's name is Rose, always messes up my order. Now, I want to be clear, she is friendly, I have no issue with her attitude towards people, but she doesn't pay attention. She rings in orders wrong, she doesn't get my name right after I've told her, and even with cash out in hand she presses for debit or credit. As a person who works in restaurants, I put up with a lot and don't make an issue over trivial things. Slightly wrong orders aren't major. . So today, June 15 2019, she served me. As I'm walking away with my food I look at the burger... looks shoddy, and missing cheese. So I go back. I don't make any issue over the quality of the burger, but I want my cheese at least. Manager gets me my cheese, and I politely inform him how theres always an issue with this cashier. Manager gives me a speech about the kitchen screwing up. Whatever. . Take my food, sit down, eat the burger... and it was not a decent burger. Tasted like reused old meat. Then I open my poutine.. ann ice cold poutine, that was served mere minutes before. Runny gravy, with NO HEAT AT ALL!!! Cheese curds were still fridge cold with no melt at all. Stab the fork in it. Fries are already mush. . Not even edible in any way. . I cant eat this at all, and poutine isnt cheap, so I go back. As politely as possible I ask for a refund on just the poutine. I already ate the rest so I didnt need anything back for that. . Manager, gives me a refund, and to my face tells me that their gravy is nice and hot. With a forced smile on his face. No.... Not hot... Not even close! Yet he tells me I'm wrong. . That's called a lie! . That's unacceptable. It's one thing to make a mistake. It's one thing to have an issue. It's one thing if a staff member either doesn't know what they are doing or is just having a bad day. But to outright lie to a customer's face after they were just in possession of the contrary.... . Well, the second that's even considered acceptable you might as well close down, because you clearly don't want business. I have never had s job in my life where I would still have a job if I did that. . And add to all that, thos was about an hour ago and my guts are starting to feel rotten from that shoddy burger as well. . Not only will I never ever eat at this location again, but I will tell everyone I know as well.

Just went in to get teen burgers to end ms today, and after I ordered the owner Steve came out and introduced himself, he is awesome and is very passionate about his business. I love the down home personal service I got today. Also my food was done before I could finish my pin on the debit machine

I'm glad that I found this location for A&W. Prbably this is the best customer service I ever had in my life. Especially the supervisor Ric Mallahari was very frndly and other staff members too. I would recommend this place to everyone. They gave the perfct food. Fries well done with extra season. Just loved it.

Staff was super friendly, their new Nashville sandwich is not good to say the least, half of the patty was just crusty twice fried thing, this was a bad experience

I bought a buddy burger .. Then the cashier didnt gave my receipt.. She didnt gave my exact change ..i know its just a penny but what if shes also doing this to other customers... Please tell her to do her job well... Her name is KYLA .. Thank u

I love the new Beyond Meat veggie burger. I am never dissapointed in the burgers at this location. The cheery staff will always rustle them up to my expectation as well which makes me happy! I don't like mustard! They make sure my burger does not have any mustard.

One of the few locations that will give you a decent amount of lettuce if you ask for a bun substitution. My fiance and I have always enjoyed A&W burgers and onion rings. This location was busy, but still got our food out in a relatively short amount of time. The food was hot and was seasoned/spiced well. My only gripe is with the paper straws. We've been to locations with compostable straws, and they are miles ahead of the flimsy paper ones that go soggy an couple minutes after use.
