DO NOT go with this company!! I had to call them to find out why I was not receiving my invoices, that was in the beginning of January 2021ย  The girl apologized and said, that was odd and would look into it.ย  Still I received NO invoice(s) (which I always have gotten one once every three months.ย  Then one day I received a letter saying I owed (whatever it was), so once AGAIN I called their office saying I wanted an invoice(s) to which she replied that she couldn't do that...like, seriously???ย  I then asked to speak with the manager...she said, I'll give you the number but they won't answer.ย  I called the number and sure enough, no answer.ย  I left a detailed message and whomever that "so-called Mgr" was, did not even have the decency to return my call.ย  VERY POOR customer service!!!ย  So, you see...this is why I am terminating my services with this company.ย  After 20 years of monitoring with them, if I even was monitored... they had the nerve to lie yet again telling me they sent me emailed invoices every month. I have never received any emails from them, paper invoice once every three months...that's it! Read other reviews...they don't know what they are doing!!

We became new customers after purchasing a home that had existing API alarm components. Bob came to see us within a week and thoroughly went through our needs, as well as explaining each component (helpful as new owners. The subsequent install went very smoothly, with two colleagues attending to help the process go faster. One missed item was an upgraded panel at the back door, but the existing panel is just fine with us. Very happy with a reasonable monthly price as well. I would recommend API alarms to any family, friends, and neighbors.

I recently had my alarm system upgraded with API - the service was very good beginning with my first interaction with them regarding my satisfaction with my current system, the person I spoke with was very knowledgeable and provided me with some options for an upgrade - I never felt pressured in any way and chose to proceed with adding security cameras and upgrades on alarm panel. The technician that did the install worked quickly and efficiently. He went over all of the features of my new panel and made sure I was ok with everything prior to leaving. I would recommend API highly if anyone is in the market for a new or upgraded alarm system.

I regret so much for using a.p.i. Alarm. I have been a client since 2017, and their alarms do not work - they have been going off every now and then since 2020 (they did come and said they fixed it but IT IS NOT). I am cancelling my service today. Anything is better than a.p.i.

Absolutely horrible company do deal with. Do yourself a favor and trust the other reviews. The home I moved in was already set-up with them... what a mistake to keep them. I was promised a free set-up and a month free. Result : 7 visits, 3 months to get thing working. The more frustrating it that there is absolutely no communication. I had to explain my issue for hours to someone else every time. They always promise that they will call you back, which they don't! Email don't work either, don't bother but the worst part is that I was charged during all that time for a system that was not working. And on top of it...i got charged service calls!! To this date, although I was told those would be removed, they are still there. It seems like none cares. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I was a Protelec customer and was moved to API when Protelec sold this part of the business to them in 2019. I recently had problems with billing as they sent me an email of a late payment notice in early October 2021, even though my billing info didn't change. I emailed the address listed in their email, no response so I called the number in the email. The person I talked to at corporate informed me that the notes she has in the system state that the Winnipeg Office notified corporate that my account was cancelled in Jan 2020. Reason was "As per Protelec" This would explain why when I had the alarm go off recently, no calls from API came as they haven't been monitoring my alarm since Jan 2020 (not sure if they ever monitored it). So, I have emailed them asking them send me confirmation that the invoices were stopped and to refund my money. I think I will need to call them again. They had no problems taking my money even though they didn't provide the service or notify me that they were canceling my monitoring. I did not cancel the service myself. Long story short, go somewhere else as they do not provide the service you are paying for and are non-responsive.

Our alarm panel went blank following a power surge and we called API for service. They are always professional and polite when we call. We had to wait approximately a week for a repair person. He was unable to fix it and advised the office that we needed a new panel. A few days later another repair person arrived and worked to repair our system. It was a complex issue and he required assistance. He and the other repairman finally were able to locate and repair the issue. We appreciate the effort taken to resolve the problem. The reason for only 4 stars is the wait time for service.

We just upgraded our alarm system with api. We were previously with Protelec and the service we received from api was excellent. Task in sales, Tim our installer and Judy in customer service were not only helpful but prompt and kind to speak to. All of them took the time to listen to our questions and help solve any small problems we had. In fact they stayed in touch with us until we were completely satisfied.
