This is my second time to this place. we went last week. it is very good trail, very easy to walk. There is no bug in the afternoon. today is very hot, but walking inside it was not hot at all, as there are very shady trails. A lot of signs along the trail, very comfortable walk.

Very pretty forest with option to do a short 1km loop or a longer 4-5km hike. Not a flat hike with some fun terrain and elevation. But beware the current caterpillar infestation!!

Great all season hiking available here! Limited parking, but if you can find a spot 99 Steps is a great trail with a mix of flat and medium incline hiking! The trail has a mix of covered and uncovered areas with markings on trees to help guide your hike. If the parking is full, you can also try the entrance off of Bathurst. Enjoy!

This is a beautiful spot for hiking, especially for fall colours. I came here quite a few times in Sep/Oct and the leaves were stunning. The only downside is the limited parking space so make sure you go early or park nearby and walk over (I heard people get ticketed when they park on the side of the road so be extra careful).

Small little trail but oh so beautiful. Went on a rainy day and it was just perfect. Tall green trees and clouds. It will hardly take u 10 mins to go round the trail major part of the trail is closed and there’s hardly any parking spots.

Great for walking but University of Toronto has closed the trail to the small lake. This was a favorite walk for our family that passed by the old sugar shack where it is rumoured that one of our prime ministers visited many years ago. There is also very limited parking with no parking signs along the road. There is maybe enough space for 8 cars in the lot. It is very disappointing that so few people can use this location at any given time.

99 Steps AKA Joker’s Hill is ideal for training, running & hiking year round. Located in Newmarket, it is a short 4 km loop trail called 99 Steps. It's located on 19th Sideroad between Dufferin and Bathurst. Footpaths can be winding, narrow & steep with uneven terrain but ideal & challenging for trail running. Very limited parking & be forewarned, no roadside parking with ticketing enforced (received $40 ticket). Option to enter off Bathurst street with large sign indicating β€œJoker’s Hill Entrance” but limited (free) parking as well. Family friendly depending on trail & km, however could be difficult for young children, older seniors & mobility aid dependent individuals. Unfortunately, no longer a β€œ local’s hidden spot” but rather, a well known & active hiking area. Also known as Thornton Bales. Enjoy!
