My husband gave me a driving lesson for my birthday gift,he paid a lot!he purchased it around may but my lesson was not till November because they don’t have instructors in Richmond, only one instructor. my lessons were at night because he was fully booked and can’t choose the time slot so I went with it because I don’t wanna let my husband down and have the hassle to do all the refund and stuff.I was practicing at the same area every lesson,he didn’t take me somewhere closer where the testing cntre. I think the instructor is burnt out already when he was teaching me at 8pm because he had lessons during the day from 9am till 10pm.I mention it to him that he haven’t taken me where the testing Cntre and he just said “I’ve never taken you there?” Like NO it’s always the same area where Minoru and Granville. I learned some few things from him but other than that I would not recommend young drivers.

Quick warning: the Richmond location only has one driving instructor and is fully booked until the new year. I found out about this after being on hold to book an in-car lesson for over an hour. It turns out there is an estimated 6-7 months wait for in-car lessons, and they only mentioned this in ONE line in ONE email long after I paid $1900 PLUS tax. In that same email, they say their program is "designed to take 5 to 7 months to allow time to practice with the co-driver." Why are they accepting new students if they cannot accommodate them within their own given time frame? Furthermore, you need to call their national line for everything: book in-car lessons, reschedule, and register under a payment plan. It isn't easy to contact your local YD branch directly. Given this, there was always a long wait time to speak to someone. I also encountered issues every other time I tried to log into my account because of a CAPTCHA error on their end. Then, they sent me the wrong registration code when I tried to sign up for their CogniFit program, so I had to contact support yet again. All these issues I encountered before my lessons even started convinced me I needed a refund. I feel it's reasonable to expect smooth sailing when paying premium prices for driver's ed. I'm guessing a lot of their current backlogging issues are COVID-19 related. 2 stars since they gave me a full refund, the people I talked to over the phone were very understanding, and the tech support department replied to my emails relatively quick. Still, I wouldn't recommend them for now.
