★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the worst subway systems around the world. This being said after having tried subways in more than 20 cities in 4 continents.
The whole thing seems to be falling apart with constant breakdowns of trains and stations.
Let alone the fact that Toronto has experienced a surge of both residential and non-residential growth in the past 30 years and the subway system belongs to 1950s. Trains are old, staff are untrained, stations are small and narrow... worst of all is pricing and sales. They still use tokens! no RFID card! You can not charge or register a card. With the advancements in technology and the city being host to one of the best tech Startup studios like Mars and BlancLabs, using no technology in cards and gates is a tragedy.
