About Winnipeg Police Association

WINNIPEG, MB: Beginning August 21, 2020 Manitobans were asked to ‘Ride Alone Together’ in support of the 12th Annual TELUS Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad (MRFD).

logo ridefordad As there was no specific ‘Ride Day’ due to the covid-19 pandemic, Riders registered online, collected pledge donations and enjoyed their ‘RAT Ride’ on the day and route of their choosing – all in the fight against prostate cancer. Today, October 5, was the last day for ‘RAT Rides’ and registered Riders have collected over $160,000 for the cause.

"The pandemic did not stop our volunteers, sponsors, Riders and pledge donors from working together to support the Ride for Dad and we are so very grateful to all who participated," said Moe Sabourin, Co-Chair, MRFD and President, Winnipeg Police Association. “Safety was our first priority from the get-go and why we moved to the Ride Alone Together format. Over the six-weeks of RAT Rides, not a single case of covid-19 was reported by Riders or volunteers.”

The 12-year fundraising total for the TELUS Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad is now over $2.75 M with all proceeds staying in Manitoba for prostate cancer research and education.

The top five fundraisers for 2020 are: Tony Kusiak, Moe Sabourin, Bill Brokke, Sonia Kraynyk, and Johnson Bijai. Congratulations and thank you!

The 2021 TELUS Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 29 depending on the status of the covid-19 pandemic.

Winnipeg Police Association party at Fort Garry hotel … sure, they can play loud music, disturb the peaceful enjoyment of guests’ sleep … but if we had a party in our suite, I bet they’d be here in a minute to shut it down. Do better public servants and hotel management.
