Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter - Winnipeg

I recently caught a stray kitty that had been abandoned outside in these freezing winter temperatures. I tried for a week to catch her, and finally I did it! I was so excited to finally have her safe and warm and to get her to a vet. As we have 3 kitty's of our own, I needed to find a safe, caring place to take her to find her forever home. After a disappointing and extremely frustrating experience with the Wpg Humane Society, who refused to accept her into their care, unless I took responsibility to care for her and find her a home on my own, or put my name on a 'Surrender List' that could take months, even though I advised I would foster her until they had 'space', I called Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter. Absolutely incredible team! I spoke with Carla, the Owner, who did not hesitate to help us, even though they are at capacity as well. I am so incredibly grateful that there are still people like Carla and her outstanding team, who are willing to help and care for abandoned, injured or stray animal's needing our help to find the perfect home. Thank you Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter for your kind, caring hearts!!! Please put my donation towards this kitty's medical bills. Unlike the Wpg Humane Society, this shelter relies on our donations from the community, to help save lives. It's not given hundreds of thousands of dollars a year like WHS, to in turn, turn away people trying to surrender or bring in stray's to give them a chance at a happy life. We got 2 kittens and they are doing wonderful. The cutest? we love them!

Love the no kill concept. Not sure about the adoption process as some reviews seem less than satisfied... hoping to volunteer here to get grounding, myself. One thing that’s not cool is I’ve donated supplies regularly and denied the washroom. What?! Why? Covid isn’t a valid excuse anymore and considering I just brought you things to help your business, I can’t go pee? Hmmm..... less than impressed.

Very friendly and helpful staff that care very much for the animals in their care. We are so happy with our newest addition to the family and the wpg pet rescue shelter is there for us if we need any help.

Crouton was adopted as a kitten from this rescue in 2016, and now she's living on Vancouver Island with her older adopted sister Pinko ❤️ I'm so glad she picked us!

Carla and the team are so amazing. We are so very grateful for their dedication and love they show for the animals that come into their care. I highly recommend visiting the shelter if you are looking to adopt a fur baby.

Carla (the owner) is very wonderful and was extremely helpful, when we had an issue she took care of it right away. She cares deeply about the animals as well as the customers! I highly recommend adopting from here Carla really has great customer service and was very lovely to deal with!

AN AWESOME PET SHELTER — i adopted my cat charlie there, so i’m obviously a bit biased but the employees who work there are amazing & volunteering has been great ! i 10/10 recommend this pet shelter if you’re looking to adopt a pet :)
