It all started when…
Wink came to life in 2015 when its owner Carly Hughes finished her education at CMU College in Toronto, Ontario for Makeup Artistry. She brought her passion for makeup and beauty to her hometown of Thunder Bay to share with all of us!
At Wink we pride ourselves on giving our clientele a customized and luxurious experience that they will remember. We are proud to be Thunder Bay’s first Eyelash Extension specialized studio. We focus on providing safe and sanitary services with the highest priority on lash health.

She also offers different lash curls and lengths and did a fantastic job making everything look really natural! The location is really cute and comfy too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Carly is a professional and bubbly individual who really listens to her customers needs. Her eyelash extension technique is very profound and long lasting. She provides an excellent service for an excellent price. I’ve had extensions internationally and wink is BY FAR my favourite eyelash extension place. The glue does not bother the eye and she uses gel pads for under your eye (much more comfortable than tape). Plus, the lashes last for a long time even with some water exposure and outdoor activities. You won’t be disappointed with this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Carly is wonderful! She is knowledgeable, kind and very good at what she does! My lashes are lovely, her technique is artful and gentle. She also did a great job threading my eyebrows. She sharped them exactly as I wanted them, and quite painlessly, too. I would recommend Wink to my friends and would definitely return!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got my first ever set of classic lashes a few weeks ago by Crystal and just had my first fill appointment trying out hybrid lashes. Both turned out beautifully! I have drifted off to sleep multiple times during our appointment times, it’s that relaxing and comfortable. You can barely notice her working on your lashes. The shop is very clean, well organized, and again super relaxing environment. Highly recommend Crystal and Wink!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Carly was my makeup artist for my wedding, and she and Brittany also did my bridesmaids', mom's, and flower girl's makeup on the morning of the wedding at my parents' house. They were both a dream to work with - they made us feel so comfortable, relaxed, and pampered, and we all had our makeup finished well before schedule. Carly and Brittany were exceptionally accommodating with the set-up we had at my parents' house, and it was so nice to be able to stay home that morning and have them come to us. We all felt beautiful, and our makeup lasted all day. I was also very on the fence about wearing red lip stick, as I usually don't wear bold lip colours, and Carly was very helpful and sweet with helping me decide and recommending lipstick brands (and I loved my red lips, thanks to her!). I would highly recommend Carly and the Wink team for anyone looking for wedding or event makeup, and couldn't be more grateful to Carly & Brittany for the wonderful experience they provided for us. <3

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The atmosphere at Wink is super cozy and welcoming. The decor makes it feel like a home. The staff is very polite and clean. I had eyebrow waxing done and the room I was in was so inviting
and clean. The table was so comfy and clean. I had Makayla she was so sweet, polite and professional. I showed up 10 minutes early and she took me in right away! The price was great and she did my brows exactly how I wanted and asked my opinion while doing it I will 100% be going back to this amazing place.

I got a last lift done and I’ve had them done before… this time my eyelashes are physically bent in half. They are not lifted, I can’t do anything with them, they are literally in half and frizzy on the ends. The tip of my eyelashes touches my eyelid. I have long eyelashes and take pride in them, and I was asked today if I cut them in half….. really unimpressed as this person has been doing this for over 6 years and my eyelashes were over “lifted” and over processed.
